Great location but disappointing 😞

Loved the location, near the beach. We had a lovely walk. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was lovely.

The room only had one set of towels, so did our freinds!! So had to ask. Luckily we had extra tissues, as toilet roll ran out, as did our friends. The room was lovely and big, but bedding and towels smelt musty. We chose to stay here as there was an 80s band advertised. They didn't arrive. Plus, we got told when we arrived they weren't doing meals, so we had to go to the only other place open for our tea, the Manor. We wouldn't stay here again.

Mirror in bedroom was so dusty you could write in it, otherwise seemed clean My room was up some stairs, then down some and then up again, not surprising given the nature of the property. Given they could see my age when I checked in it would have been helpful if one of the staff would have asked if I would like a hand taking anything up to the room

The breakfast was excellent plenty of choice what you need to start the day. The staff were friendly and polite The room was clean with basic facilities all you need for a short break

The bar Staff

The fact that what I had seen on Booking.com when making the reservation was not what we got. I had booked several rooms and 3 of them were not good! The bed linens in the room I stayed couldn’t be fresh after finding hairs on the sheets and pillows themselves, as if someone had slept in the bed and just pulled the covers up. The bath towels had a musty smell which is not right. When ordering food, again what a disaster . Didn’t have a couple of things on the menu or not enough of it to serve us but, telling us 20 minutes later of that which resulted in us waiting almost 1.5hrs for the food. The bars had no bottled water at all which is extremely strange for an establishment and the food was completely tasteless ,to the point that none of us finished it and two dishes where sent back which we was never charged for. For a property that was rated 8.2, could never be.

It was quiet and good value. The staff were helpful with regards giving me a taxi number, heating the room and making me a sandwich to take away for my breakfast.

The room was cold but the staff rectified this by getting me a heater.

A wonderfulsurprise to end a long and tiring week, which took all our aches and pains away.

Lovely breakfast and staff were accommodating when asked for specific things we were walking the C to C the opposite way, camping 6 out of 7 nights so it was fantastic to finish our last night and be given such a lovely twin bed room that was spacious, light and very comfortable, the beds were also lovely.

Friendly staff, easy to find, room large and comfortable. Every member of staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy and large!

It’s a little tired, but we get why, height of summer yet really quiet. These small places need to be supported to survive.

I stay was short and 50/50

What we asked for from the kitchen was very good but the choice and quantity of cereal on offer was poor and only enough orange juice for one, also it was the only juice on offer. No bin to dispose of tea bags, little things but should be standard.

The front of the property could be more welcoming not having a large plastic bin of bottles and can on show.walking in the front door gloomy entrance dirty carpet just felt like entering a dated pub.The room we had was ok but in need of a update or decor, painting job.I wasn’t impressed being asked to pay as soon as I walked into the place before seeing room ect.

Clean and comfortable.

The single room was clean and comfortable, with all basic needs covered (soap, tea & coffee, towels etc). The breakfast menu included a selection of omelettes as well as traditional cooked breakfasts.

The person in the room above mine was pacing about in the late evening, the small hours and early morning, so I had little sleep. Some sound proofing would be good, or residents with more compassion for fellow guests.

The Queens is well located in St Bees, easy to access from the train, and a short walk to the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The bed was large and comfortable, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the Queens.

The floor of the room was at quite an angle, very close to the road and the steps leading up to the outside door went right underneath the window where people (staff?) tended to sit and have coffee / chat. Noisy until after 1am when I finally fell asleep.

I was served a lively breakfast

It was hard to find any parking even the train station parking was full. The walls in the room are very thin and unfortunately I had a very loud couple next door to me who continued to party until 3.30 in the morning , so not much sleep for me.

Fabulous full English breakfast included in the price of the room. Friendly welcoming staff , sadly we arrived too late to sample the bar food, but we had a great stay - would definitely stay here again .

Nice pub accommodation with good breakfast

Nice bedroom away from the bar area so lovely and quiet. Bed was comfortable and was clean and good facilities. Breakfast was tasty and arrived fairly quickly. Good position near the train station so didn't have to walk far with our luggage. No traffic noise as village quiet in the evening. Nice bar area downstairs with friendly locals

Not the hotel's fault but had a largish party of other guests who had drunk all the orange juice and milk, and it took us a little longer to be served because they got to breakfast first. The hotel did put more out once asked.
