We had a beautiful stay at Una Vida, it's honestly a little bit of paradise in Tulum. We stayed in the tropical room with the plunge pool and it was amazing. The pool was great for cooling off after a day out and it was so nice to have some private space. The hotel pool area is gorgeous and the drinks and food were great and reasonably priced for the convenience. We had the breakfast included and I would definitely recommend it. We spent an afternoon at the Hotel Bardo pool as well, it's a slightly edgier vibe and also great. I wish we'd had more time to try out the yoga classes. We also hired bikes at the front desk which was super convenient and cycled out to Tulum Ruins.
Very minor but there wasn't always someone at reception and we had to message the team and wait a couple times. This didn't really impact our stay much. The room could also do with a normal height chair, the beds are very high up and the chairs very low down!

Really cool boutique hotel design in a jungle setting. Nicely decorated and comfortable room with private plunge pool. Great layout and pool area. Food was high standard.
The hotel is a bit remote, requiring a not so nice walk in to town. Inflated prices when booking taxis through the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Una Vida. Your entire team was absolutely incredible — so kind, welcoming, and always helpful. The service was truly outstanding, a real 10/10 experience. Thank you again for everything ✨

We stayed in an apartment with a bedroom and a living room with a kitchenette, without access to a pool — which I didn’t mind, as there were a lot of mosquitoes at all times of day and night. The garden is lush, which provides shade but also creates high humidity — nothing dries outside, not even swimsuits — and the number of mosquitoes is quite overwhelming. Please note: the hotel is not located in the center. The lady at the reception even mentioned that it’s better to drive or take a taxi to town in the evening, as the road is unpleasant and poorly lit after dark. Prices at the hotel bar or the restaurant next door (connected by the garden) are surprisingly high — often higher than in the main hotel zone — which seems excessive given the location. This doesn’t affect my overall rating, but it’s definitely something worth knowing before booking. As mentioned, we had a bedroom and a living area. At first glance, everything looks great, but to get from one room to the other you have to go outside — meaning more mosquitoes! We ended up spending 99% of our time inside the bedroom. The bathroom design was also quite frustrating: the sink water is either boiling hot or requires such high pressure that you’ll get soaked if you want a bearable temperature. There were several days with no Wi-Fi, which is a serious problem since mobile signal there is very weak. Guests didn’t receive any compensation (like a free drink or restaurant discount), only repeated promises that “it will be fixed tomorrow” — it wasn’t. There’s also a $100 USD deposit per day, and the receptionist insisted on taking a credit card again, even though the booking had already been fully paid by card. She admitted it wasn’t mandatory but became quite rude when we declined. You can borrow beach towels, but only if you leave your room key at reception — as if the daily $100 deposit wasn’t enough. Every bill must be signed, sometimes even twice, with a signature matching your passport.
