Lochnagar Guest House

Loved everything about the property. From the room being set up so wonderfully, to a clean bathroom, and nice little kitchen area to use. I will definitely be back.

The guest house is located close to the city centre and Union Square which makes it convenient for going out in the evening and also for catching buses or trains. Even though it is close to the city centre, there wasn't much outside noise during my stay. I only encountered one member of staff who showed me to my room when I checked in, and she was very pleasant and helpful.

I found noise coming from inside the property to be a little annoying at times. It is possible to hear extractor fans located in bathrooms around the property every time someone turns the light on. And if anyone in the property is having a conversation in another room or in a corridor this can easily be heard. Also, because my room was close to the small communal kitchen area, I was sometimes disturbed by noise when people were making drinks or preparing food. The microwave being used at 10pm one night is a prime example. I appreciate this is not the fault of the property owner though.

The location was within walking distance of the city centre. We appreciated the fridge in the room. It was good to be able to make our own breakfast using the shared kitchenette facilities.

The person who greeted us on arrival didn't give a very good first impression of the location and we were concerned about whether the stay would be a good one. The bedroom, although clean and well-decorated, was quite cramped for 2 people and 2 suitcases.
