It is a family house of the 19th century recently renovated, spacious.
You will enjoy the very garden, quiet and centrally located: in an old farmhouse
10 min from the center of Caen, 20 minutes from the beach, just over a kilometer from the Caen Memorial and near the landing beaches.
Quiet and close to all amenities, 200 m from the public transport network, bike path nearby.

Great hosts, answered any questions before and during our stay very quicklyLocation is excellent, very close to the beautiful city if Caen, the D-Day beaches, many beautiful towns and villages in the region.It was a fantastic place for us to take our daughters family as they had one bedroom wing whilst we have the main bedroom out of earshot The garden is enormous and the new playground in the village is a huge bonus for families with young kids Plenty of space inside also for a multi-generation holiday

The last 3 weeks we spent our summer family vacation in St Contest and found it wonderful. The house is very spacious with a huge kitchen equipped with all the stuff one needs for food preparation (oven, microwave, hot plates etc.) and even features a dishwasher. Both the kitchen and the living room offer additional doors to access the huge garden. We liked especially the master bedroom with a private bathroom to it. Next to this also the other rooms were sized well and some hidden closets made it easy to put away travel stuff. Even though we did not use it a lot we still found the quiet area on the attic really nice. The kids also loved the little playing are in the living room. All in the house is a very neat place to stay and offers a lot of space. The quiet surrounding also make it a relaxing place, for usually there is hardly any traffic noise. Instead we enjoyed lots of birds which seem to like the Redwoodtree and even were able to spot some bats - really cool. We undertook various trips by car to the nearer area, like: Caen - right next to it Mont St Michel, Honfleur - ~1.5hrs, Swiss Normandy, Etretat, Carentan, Viaduc de la Souleuvre ~1hr, beaches, war sites, Breche au Diable, Festyland and more within 30-45min => so really a lot to do and see. Dominique and Olivier were welcoming us on arrival and are very(!) kind people and even gave us a little welcome gift =) They also supported us, if we faced a challenge. We can only recommend the place to others!

Great house for our family of six, not too far from really nice parks and the center of Caen and beaches. Few areas we felt needed pointing out was that •the house would benefit greatly from a patio area around the back gardens, for BBQ and dining, as the current gravel area was very uncomfortable and uneven under foot, plus the inherited cats used this for their toilet 😟 also not suitable for small children/pram or buggy. • first impressions on entering the house were of an unkempt driveway with a sloped gravel pathway and fallen wall rubble leading up to the house, again not suitable for buggy's, recommend steps or suitable pathway. •would've been great if the information left out for us regarding house / instructions was in English rather than in French . Apart from that we had a really lovely relaxing holiday and experienced some real French culture, plus we inherited 3 chickens and 2 cats during our Stay, children were delighted! Thank you

Although first impressions on arrival were of an unkempt driveway, lots of weeds and rubble from a fallen wall .Would benefit hugely from more secure pathways to and from the car, and around the house, patio area to dine outdoors as gravel areas were quite uneven under foot. Im not sure Id recommend this property to friends with a young family as outside areas not suitable for a pram and crawling children.We had a very pleasant stay whilst holidaying in France, lovely parks, beaches and historic places to visit. Great house and gardens .. plenty of space for a family of six. Although first impressions on arrival were of an unkempt driveway, lots of weeds and rubble from a fallen wall . Would benefit hugely from more secure pathways to and from the car, and around the house, patio area to dine outdoors as gravel areas were quite uneven under foot. I'm not sure I'd recommend this property to friends with a young family as outside areas not suitable for a pram and crawling children. We had a very pleasant stay whilst holidaying in France, lovely parks, beaches and historic places to visit. Thank you

Wir haben unsere Urlaubswoche in der Normandie sehr genießen können. Das wunderschöne alte Haus von Oliviere und Domenique hatte einen großen Anteil daran. Die Bilder sind identisch der Realität. Das Haus ist sehr großräumig und bietet für 6 Personen reichlich Platz und auch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Im Garten fühlt man sich vor allem unter dem Mammutbaum sehr wohl. (nur der Blick auf den riesigen Funkturm unmittelbar hinter dem Haus ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig! ) Zur Ankunft wurden wir von unseren Vermietern herzlich empfangen. Die Lage des Hauses ist so ziemlich zentral, um von da aus die umliegende Umgebung in alle Richtungen mit dem Auto zu erkunden. Wir haben auch die typisch- normannischen Spezialitäten genossen: Cidre, Camembert, Calvados und lecker Baguette dazu. Herzlichen Dank liebe Dominique und Oliviere

Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten mit vier Personen reichlich Platz, sowohl drinnen als auch draußen in dem riesigen Garten. Das Haus hat eine modern/antike Ausstrahlung, es ist ausgestattet mit allem, was man im Urlaub so braucht inklusive einer guten WLAN-Anbindung. Leider fehlt eine Zuwegung zum Haus und der Dachboden des Hauses ist noch nicht fertig ausgebaut. Eine Terrasse gibt es nicht. Dafür gibt es zahlreiche Möglichkeiten rund ums Haus, die Gartenmöbel draußen dort zu plazieren, wo es gerade passt und am besten gefällt. Das Grundstück ist unglaublich riesig und schön und es liegt sehr ruhig mitten in Saint-Contest, einem Vorort von Caen. Fasziniert waren wir auch von dem noch relativ jungen Riesenmammutbaum im Garten, der sicher noch höher hinaus will. Die zentrale Lage ist für Touren duch die Normandie hervorragend. Nach Caen in die Stadt fährt man mit dem Auto 10 Minuten, bis zum Meer dauert es gut 20 Minuten.

Séjour très très agréable , maison très confortable et très bien équipée. Idéalement située pour rayonner dans cette belle région. La maison est conviviale elle est au calme et son parc reposant. Nous sommes impatient de pouvoir y séjourner prochainement.
