Hermanus beach club. Property does meet your expectations.

The house was very comfortable, quite.

The scatters camp opposite the street is disturbing. Why must I pay a cleaning R300 for cleaning fees when I arrive, and leave and when Ieave, next person does not need to when they arrive, place already clean. There was also a extra fee of a R100 to pay. Plus a amount went of my account, extra for booking fees via booking.com. R600 extra paid to upgrade because my husband is disabled go up and down on stairs. R600 for breakage fees. We are pensioners, this extra cost is a lot out of our budget and we were 3 people pensioners.

Traumatic new year

We had 2 units: unit 63 : on arrival it was disgusting. It was very smelly and dirty. Mugs were chipped. None of crockery matched. Uneven amounts of cutlery and crockery. Glasses were so old and dirty. Couches were long past sell by date and extremely lumpy and uncomfortable and covered with dirty smelly throws. Bathroom smelled so badly of old urine and window didnt open. Bedroom curtain rod was was haning by a thread.

The outside of the buildings and garden..100% BUT I was booked for unit 164, on arrival it was already accupied. Had to wait for more than half an hour to reserve another unit. Arrive at unit 202, no key, had to wait a while for Bianca to unlock. What a SHOCK!! The place inside looks terreble, sliding door can't open, Webber braaier handles rusted off, blinds are broken, small window hinge broken off, bedding with different linnen,inside wall in living area with water damadge and...and... Please talk to owner to fix. We were given unit 203....200% better but still maintenance need to be done.

The bed really needs to be replaced. You can feel the springs. My wife is pregnant she didn't sleep well throughout. All the windows just has one curtain or blind. So it's either open or close. So there no privacy if you need light in the house. Others theplace itself is nice especially all the entertainment things.

We would gladly have paid more for a unit that did not feel like an insult.

I feel Hermanus Beach Club is a good place to stay when you have limited spending available but would still enjoy a very pleasant stay. The staff at the gate were very friendly and welcoming on arrival despite being very busy. The resort is well maintained and in a good condition. there are good facilities available.

With my first interaction with the host, I was informed that the unit does not have WiFi. I pointed out that it was included it the booking. I was then given a different unit. The wifi in this unit was good until around 20:00, then it wasn't. There were no curtains or blinds in the lounge. This made everything unpleasant as it is where all family activities took place. The glare from the sunlight made it impossible to watch the movie we planned to watch until dark. We were building a puzzle and the afternoon sun glared on the puzzle. We found a cockroach in the kitchen, the toaster didn't work and tripped the power, the bin did not have a lid, there was a foul smell in the en suite bathroom.

Room of improvement needed

Beds were comfortable and warm.

Room with a double bed had no light, no towels in the bathroom, 2 toilet papers for 3 nights were not enough for 4 guests. No welcome coffee/tea. Lastly, not least, the noise from neighbors playing music from as early as 06h00 was unbearable.

Did not stay longer than 10 minutes after the inspection

Nothing, I cancelled the stay immediately after inspecting the property on arrival and requested a refund, which i still have not received.

Family vacay

The view from the apartment was stunning every morning and evening. Loved the peace and tranquility it offered.

The drive-in through the squatter camp wasn't what we expected, but I suppose there's nothing we can do about that. The one room with the double bed was really tight and mattress very hard, but we managed. Would be nice if there were clothes hangers in the cupboard.

Absolutely Nothing! The pictures of the property is misleading. The pictures I have loaded, is the view from the unit.

The smell inside the unit was unbearable. We had to find another place to stay. It's dangerous to leave the ficilty at night.

Our stay was overall good.

The amenities and location to beach, was the best. Este, my host, was super accommodating and assisted whenever I had any queries. She was a top host.

The wifi connection was super bad, so basically the free wifi was not used. The bathroom can do with some updates. One bathroom (not too sure if we missed a second bathroom), is not enough for six people.

We really loved the facilities and the unit was really beautiful. Will definitely make use of it again in the future. The neighbors were also kind and friendly. We felt really safe and secured in the complex

The lady who works at the kiosk at the club house was really unfriendly and rude. She can definitely behave better with visitors as we are not her daily clients who resides there.

Too tight and small even for 1 person. Poor self catering facilities.Only 1 pot without lid supplied for cooking.No toaster,No heater,No place to sit to watch TV.No place to put your luggage,your cloths and personal items.Cupboards are full with their own cleaning stuffs and the geyser.No communications with management during the weekend.patio door lock loose and once you are on balcony and shut the door,the knob fells and you are locked outside.Gas runs out and no one to help during weekend.

Good Budget friendly stay

This a great budget friendly option for Hermanus. It's central location makes it easy to reach beaches, wineries and shops. It has good facilities for kids and has access to the ocean. It was comfortable and clean for a short stay.

The property has been encroached by a township at the entrance, you need to keep an eye out for children playing in the street and we didn't go out at night. The beds were a bit bouncy.

Hermanus weekend,

The units were very nice and comfortable

Unit 29 smelled like mold.. Vegatable rack was full of mold, and the cutlery draw and cutlery smelled like mold. Both toasters were broken and only halve a toilet paper and a bad quality. Unit 91 had a burned fish smell. The caretaker confirmed that previous people burned fish, and they can't get the smell out, Broken mirror in the one room. Broken lamp. Toaster did not work properly, and you have to keep the bread in with your hand. Bed in main bedroom full of spider webs. Head board dirty and dusty. The washing machine was plugged out, and we could not use it. IRON had burned plastic on it, and we had to clean it. We were told that on the day we came, we should bring our own towels. Bedding was not iron was totally creased. Pillows in one room. Very hard.
