Notwithstanding the shower, a good base for a short break - by train - to the area.

Good location near the station.. Staff - when there - were friendly and helpful. Good value. Breakfast very good.

Sometimes no staff on the desk. The beds were not overly comfortably, just one small pillow. The shower could not be turned off. We reported this, it was fixed but on the 2nd day (of a 2 day visit) it didn't work at all.

Excellent location for train travel. Nice breakfast.

I didn’t realise my room came with breakfast which was a nice surprise. I left early so the staff made a nice breakfast bag for me.

I waited nearly 15 minutes to check in as there was no staff available at the desk. I had to go to the restaurant to ask. I could see they were very busy (which is a good thing of course!)

The location is great right next to the train station and very close to the city center. The breakfast buffet has good variety.

The room and the bathroom were pretty run down and looked like they hadn't seen any improvements in 50 years. Carpets and tiling might have been clean, but looked somewhat filthy.

Convenient. A Hotel Near the Station

1. Very close to Leuven train station. 2. Nice view of the town square from our room. 3. Very clean room and facility. 4. Good heating, (radiator). 5. The window in our room could be opened. 6. Numerous bars, restaurants, shops close by.

Very pleasant stay, with a great breakfast

The breakfast was delicious, with lots of options for bread and different juices, types of milk, yogurt, and coffee. The view from the room, especially at sunrise, was amazing. The location was also great, very central. For one night for work purposes, the hotel is more than great.

The mattress was quite hard and uncomfortable. The room was a bit hot and stuffy too, but the fan in the room provided some comfort. The carpet in the entire room is a bit unhygienic and makes it dusty.

A great base to a great city

La Royale, is a historic building, with a beautiful classic design. Easily accessible from the train station, so managing luggage was a dream. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. The staff were professional and friendly. The restaurant provided well priced, quality food, the muscles were great. We enjoyed sitting outside with the many locals, drinking a beer watching the world go by.

Our room was basic, but functional. A fair representation of the price I paid. I didn't like having to come home, I love Lueven.

Good Location for Rock Wecther

The location is perfect for Leuven and Rock Wechter festival. Right beside the train station. Good breakfast.

The shower was annoying. Cannot regulate the hot/cold water, it kept changing. The value for the room was way high (although I understand it's festival time and demand was very high).

Fine building, lovely staff, great breakfast!

La Royale occupies a handsome building straight opposite the station. The interior retains many original features, but has all the modern facilities you'd expect. All the staff (especially Steffi) were lovely and helped us to store our bags safely a few hours before check-in, allowing us to explore the wonderful city unencumbered by luggage. The range and quality of breakfast items was exceptional and set us up perfectly for the day!

Angy about internet, and happy at 1am to get on online

Across the street from the main train station, and good service to the Brussels airport and easy access from Brussels and other locations. This is a budget hotel and room, bed, all were okay for me.

The only issue for me was the internet, that I really needed. When I complained about weak signal, they advised to come down and sit on the steps in the lobby. Well at least I could login there, but in my room 1 floor up, I had no signal, and was very unhappy, Woke up at 1am and the signal in my room was just fine. So it would seem the issue is the typical internet load when everyone is awake.

The hotel is located right opposite the station. The room itself is very basic, however Internet was working flawlessly. A good selection for breakfast was provided.

For my surprise, the bathroom was not in the room, but on the other side of the corridor, and it seems like needing some refurbishment. The lighting was inadequate (only 1 out of 3 lamps worked).

Disappointing

Excellent location, nice terasse. Kind and responsive staff at the reception. The bed was convinient. Everyday cleaning.

The room was worn-out, rusty and old, just as the whole enterior. There were gross stains, smudges, etc on the walls, the toilet was leaking, the drainage blocked. The elevator continously stinked as a dead animal. The breakfast was simple, no vegies at all. Despite they cleaned the room every day and the sheets, towels were clean all the time, the dirty marks on the walls and the infrastructure couldn't be removed, they remained gross.
