Water's Edge Anuradhapura - 3-Bed Lakeside Bungalow

We stayed just one night but wish we stayed for two. The view from the verandah of the bungalow is just spectacular – three stupas across the large lake in front of the property. The bungalow itself was very comfortable with just three bedrooms. We booked one room and since the other two rooms were unoccupied on that day, we had the whole place to ourselves. They have got new mattresses which were super comfortable. It’s not super-luxury but very tasteful and clean. The toilets are huge and with hot water. The bungalow keeper Mangala and his asst were also very helpful and made some delicious Sri Lankan food. Highly recommended.

Location, surroundings & service

Nothing at all, but there were some issues in hot water & the drainage.

Meals were great and beautiful location.

The home cooked food was great. Nice distant views of stupas. Host was very welcoming. Make sure you have some cash for dinner, credit cards not taken.

This is an old bungalow not a hotel. Concrete bed not comfortable at all. Doesn't have generator and we had several power cuts (usual sri lanka at this time). No kettle or tea bags, coffees in room. Place needs an upgrade. Bed is concrete with inadequate mattress not comfortable and not proper pillows. Quite high price for something so basic
