Super friendly staff, really modern and clean accommodation with a lovely bar

Only thing was there was no hair dryer provided, that I could see, but otherwise perfect

It was cheap. Fantastic bar and cocktail area

Private bathroom was a separate room down the corridor. Dust across the windowsills, radiator and dressing table. Any vacuuming across the stained carpet had only been done in places you’d look at a quick glance, under the bed was a pillows worth of feathers. The pillow cases and bedsheets themselves were stained. The towels provided, again, stained and the glasses and mugs were all filthy too. There’s no reception area to speak of. I arrived, couldn’t find anywhere to check in, so headed to the bar area. I asked the barman where I could check in and he told me he could do it. He then proceeded to continue to serve at the bar for another 15 minutes before he got his phone out, asked for my details and called his manager. His manager then arrived about another ten minutes later, apologised (apparently my arrival at the hotel we had pre booked two rooms, almost a week ahead had disturbed his dinner)

The room was fine and location near town centre.

They are still refurbishing the hotel, no reception and have to hope someone contacts you, I had to wait after phoning the hotel and a neighbour let me in. 🙃 Luckily I only paid £60 for the night.

The hotel main building is beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, memory foam mattress. The room was a good size and the bathroom was recently modernised. It was lovely and warm in the bathroom. There was plenty of storage.

The parking is not good. There’s 2-3 spaces at the front and approximately 8 spaces at the back behind the building in front of the annexe building. It’s only a small car park with little room for turning when full so easy to get blocked in. The driveway is a single driveway so when we found the car park to be full we had to reverse back down onto the busy main road. We had to park outside the property boundary on the grass corner so our shoes got very muddy. No fault of the owners but something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues etc. check in wasn’t a good experience as no instructions on what to do, it was a busy Friday night and my boyfriend had to go into the busy bar and wait for someone to be available whilst I waited in the hallway with our luggage. We were in the annexe. Comfortable rooms. The bathroom had some hairs in sink and wasn’t clear that the cleaning had been finished in there. Disappointed that there were no fresh toiletries as shown in several pictures. There was only a bottle of shampoo and hand wash. Checking out we were not sure what we had to do as no staff about so we rang the bell and were told to put keys through letterbox. I think the checking in and out process needs some instructions on the booking process.

Nice hotel. Nice location. Only stayed one night, nice place to stay for a little longer in future.

Location

Dirty stained walls in the bedroom, dirty stained blinds only one the other window was broken! No blind at the bathroom window! Broken entrance door lock. Litter and rubbish in the carpark, holes in walls where work had been carried out and not finished!
