The bed was not the comfiest - hard

The hotel was ideally located for the town centre and the food we had in the evening was some of the best Indian I have eaten in a while. Our room was comfortable with the typical amenities you expect to find. A nice touch was the extra tea and biscuits in the room.

The way in to the rooms was unclear, you had to walk right through the pub with your luggage to check in at the bar which was a bit awkward and the staff were a bit abrupt and not particularly friendly.

We stayed in an outside room facing the car park and it was quiet. Breakfast was great. Room was warm, clean and well presented.Overall, good value for money.

Our first room wasn’t warm when we got there, the heating was electric so we had to wait for it to get warm. The room couldn’t be locked so we were shown to another room and that room was also cold so we started the heating process again. We ate dinner at the property, we both had prawn and salmon linguine however the pasta tasted as though it hadn’t been seasoned during cooking, so I left most of mine, my wife left a lot of hers as well. I did explain to the young waiter why we hadn’t finished our meal but we had no response from anyone about this. The breakfast was lovely cooked well and the staff very attentive asking us was everything ok etc

Always good service. Even though restaurant very busy with a retirement party, they managed to find me a table for food. Food always good. Breakfast excellent.

Room cold, heating took ages to warm it up. Aerial cable on TV clearly has wiring issue so lost TV viewing. Reported since so they can fix.

Location was good for what we needed. Handy having the pub for dinner. Good breakfast.

Our room had no heating and it was freezing! 14 degrees when we arrived. There was a plug in 4 bar heater in the room but it hadn’t been plugged in. We needed to quickly shower and get ready to meet friends, and had to do so in the cold. It felt like we might as well have been camping.

We stayed in Room 1 which, while compact, has everything you need for a short stay - including more USB sockets in one room than I think I’ve come across before. The flexibility to come and go using the same key card for the external door as for the room is great. The pub itself is very popular, but we didn't hear a thing once the door closed, plus breakfast was superb! Overall we had a comfortable and very good value-for-money experience.

The evening meal was good and the breakfast also. The staff were friendly and responsive.

The room was tiny, the bed was also small and basic. I couldn't turn the heating down, so I found it difficult to sleep. Opening the bathroom door was awkward with the limited space in the room.

Check in was easy. Our room was very comfortable and warm.Staff throughout our stay were very attentive. Booked an evening meal there which was excellent and good portions. The full English breakfast next morning was cooked perfect and very tasty. Would recommend it.

Our room had a drainy smell

Always good value although due to heavy rain the bathroom had the most awful drain smell had to keep the door closed !!

Great location to town, nice room. Has parking.

Wasn't a problem for us but no lift so if you have mobility issues ask for a downstairs room.

Bedroom very cold and complex heating system there was supplementary heater plugged in to room. No option for smaller breakfast so food wastage

Idea for travelling around the area. Clean staff very helpful. Pub grub was great. Ideal for travelling on your own.

No heater in the bathroom so a bit chilly having a shower

Location was good, bedroom quite nice although on the small side. Breakfast was very good.

There was a terrible drain smell in the bathroom. The mattress on the bed wasn't at all comfortable to sleep on resulting in a poor night's sleep. The service at the bar was poor - I was ignored several times whilst staff prioritised sorting out internal issues instead of serving customers. We decided to have an evening meal and both ordered curries. My wife's curry was far too hot and made it inedible but whilst we told the waiting staff there was no offer to refund the cost they just said they would let the kitchen know !!! Unfortunately we will not be returning.

The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good.

The bar closed at 11pm and there was no residents' lounge after that.

Not a dislike, an observation, The heating took a bit of working out as the radiator pipe itself had been turned fully off therefore the thermostatic control made no difference until we realised the radiator itself needed adjusting.

Lovely place, amazing staff which are so helpful. Lisa in particular. Room was gorgeous. And food was excellent.

The staff were amazing. All very friendly and welcoming, plus a special mention for the breakfast crew who were really nice. Food was great too: superb breakfast, and Indian fusion restaurant in the pub for evening meals.

The room was a bit small and lacked wardrobe space, but a minor gripe.

Well equipped, good location, lovely staff who were extremely helpful.

The room was extremely dusty, round the very edges of the carpet where the regular hoover doesn’t pick up had a massive build up of dust, certain areas, shelves etc around the room dusty. Mugs had been cleaned but had obvious stains, teaspoon again had been cleaned but was still dirty. Bathroom had a slight foul odour, tiles where they meet the door frame missing grout or sealant, shelf above the toilet had stains or residue from soap or similar. Bed was uncomfortably soft. No way of keeping the window open, and although the room had air conditioning it was so loud there was no way we could use it whilst attempting to sleep so ended up hopelessly hot and uncomfortable in the bed all night - didn’t end up having much sleep. Feels like a bit of a rant but everything added up, it become a really low point on our trip.
