Essentia Guest House

I fell in love with the terrace and its beautiful view when I first saw the photos on Booking.com, so before our stay I asked the owner if we could reserve the table overlooking the lake for dinner. Not only did he arrange it for dinner, but he also let us have the same table for breakfast the following morning, which was such a lovely touch. We had spent the previous few days sightseeing in Milan and Turin, and this was our last stay before returning to London. I really wanted somewhere special where we could slow down and relax, and Essentia Guest House was perfect. We took the C131 bus from Como San Giovanni to Molina. The journey itself was beautiful, with wonderful views over the lake. When we arrived in Molina, the owner picked us up from the bus stop and drove us up the hill to the guest house. Being so high up is part of what makes this place so special. There is almost nothing to interrupt the view across the lake and surrounding mountains. After arriving, we relaxed in the hot tub overlooking the lake, which felt amazing after several busy days of travelling. Later we had drinks on the terrace with mellow, relaxing music playing in the background. There is also a very friendly cat and some lovely donkeys, which made the place feel even more charming. After a little nap, we had dinner at our terrace table. We really enjoyed the food and wine and had such a lovely evening. Being surrounded by nature and animals, with good food and genuinely kind people, was exactly what we needed :D Thank you again for hosting us and for making our last night in Italy so memorable!

Honestly, nothing. The location does take a little effort to reach, but for us the journey up into the hills was part of the experience, and the owner kindly picked us up from the bus stop in Molina.

We loved our stay at Essentia Guest House! We stayed here right before heading down to Tuscany with our two dogs. We all felt completely at home here and so warmly welcomed. We had the best wine we had tried the whole trip (and we stayed at many many different places during our travels) and the most romantic dinner together in their garden with incredible views over looking Lake Como. This stay was dreamy and we will always remember it!

Nothing not to like!

This place is extremely breathtaking, the tranquility, the views were out of this world. The room was perfect with everything that you need. Sparkling clean and comfortable There is a great set up for breakfast and dinner. Having Delicious fresh food overlooking the lake with the sun going down was the highlight of the stay. You cannot drive here. You must park at the bottom of the hill and get the "shuttle". It was such an adventure availing of said shuttle as all the fit on the "road" is a fiat panda. The shuttle is available for most of the day but it is possible to walk with a small level of fitness. Thoroughly recommend for some r&r

The staff was very helpful and the room was comfortable. It has a wood fireplace which made it cozy.

The shower was a bit small even for one person in our room. The property was beautiful although off beaten path it was nice. The public transportation was the hard west thing.
