Strongly recommended.

This is a really beautiful place to stay, in the old town on Lindau island. The building itself is old, but it has been wonderfully renovated in a way that preserves many of the original features. Our accommodation was exceptionally spacious, so that we effectively had both a sitting room and a bedroom. The hotel is very close to the centre of the old town and the harbour, so you can easily walk everywhere.

Car parking is a problem, but this was already clear from the reviews, and the owners clearly explained the parking situation before we arrived, so this did not come as a surprise. There are several car parks that you can use, but they are typically a 20-minute walk from the hotel (apart from a very expensive one near the hotel). However the problem is very much eased by the fact that there are very good bus services between some of the car parks and the hotel, which you can use without paying. I feel that the very great advantages of the hotel completely outweigh the problems of parking.

Mr. Hübner was not only friendly, but he also did everything he could to accommodate my check in and check out needs. There are many little details in the room to make you feel at home and the location is just perfect. I would recommend and definitely stay again.

Stay here! Excellent Hotel!

We have been traveling in Europe for a few weeks. This has to be the nicest room we’ve stayed in-almost like a honeymoon suite. It’s spacious, clean, lovely decorated, with all the extra amenities you may need -even robes and flip flops! You can add breakfast on for an extra 18 euros per person. We chose to check out a local bakery instead, but I heard breakfast here is excellent. The staff are friendly (they speak very clear English) and this charming Bavarian town is fun to explore. You can also hop on a 10 minute train to Austria and take a gondola up to see the amazing views of Lake Constance!

The breakfast was very good and the family who run the hotel were very warm and helped in making us comfortable. Its very well located within walking distance of restuarants and yet quiet and away from the crowds

Great place to relax.

Everything was excellent. The staff & owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was wonderful especially the freshly squeezed orange juice.

We could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, the stay was too short. We will be staying there again!

Nice hotel in old school building, but completely refurbished to high standards. Great to stay!

Location in the old town on the island was perfect for visiting Lindau. No need for transport, nice walks around the island. Breakfast is self service with big choice of everything and you can ask for preparation with eggs (omelette, scrambled eggs, ...).

Nothing really. No negative points to be mentioned. It is rather expensive, but in this location and for the received quality, this is to be expected. No surprises here.

The property was very attractive and immaculately clean. I particularly liked the subtle lighting in the room. The hotel was situated close to the town centre and also very close to the park.

Great breakfast with all different options, the food was fresh and even had an orange juice presser! How fresh can it be? Just throw one or 2 oranges and watch the machine do the job. We love the croissants, the yogurt and the cappuccinos.

Hotel Alte Schule was an amazing place to stay! The renovations made to this old old building were just so well done - keeping elements of the old while updating to the new and efficient. The owners and staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day. And everything was very comfortable.

Nice, cozy hotel with very friendly staff.

I liked the location. The room was neat, decorated very nice.

The room for the toilet is too small. Tall people cannot close the door. I didn't have towels in my room and had to request them. But, the owner got them right away (remedied). My soap dispenser didn't have any soap in it. But I got a new dispenser quickly (all remedied). Breakfast was okay, but not worth 15 euro/day. I had some issues with my entry into the hotel - need an app and it expired after 24 hours.

Great location, parking is nearby (Motorbike), the Hotel is a couple of minutes from places to eat. The room was perfect, if you are tall let them know when you book!

A lovely hotel in a lovely town -go there!

This is a really nice hotel in a lovely town. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts provided are very good with bacon and egg etc available too if you ask. The staff are helpful and friendly and both Gabbi and Marc, the owners speak good English and can give you plenty of advice on where to go and what to see.

Only slight niggle was that the Wi-Fi wasn’t good in my room once I closed the door - but elsewhere in the building no problem. Otherwise there was nothing I didn’t like.

Unexpectedly it was a duplex room with a steeply curving stairs and ceilings/ doorways which were a bit of a threat to the heads of the unwary. Bathroom downstairs, bedroom upstairs. Not so convenient in the middle of the night.

Wonderful hotel!

This hotel has all the modern amilities and at the same is very charming old building. Hotel has many little details that make it very great as a holiday spot. It was spotlessly clean also. And the town Lindau is worth a visit. Loved the place!
