Lots to do in Hawes. Not lucky with the weather but local. museum fantastic with a ticket that lasts the week. Greet sho

A central location near all facilities including the bus stop. A relaxed approach, housekeeping only on request but I liked that and breakfast ordered night before but not a problem. Staff plentiful and very helpful. Shower was red hot.

I mere tried the bar for a meal as it was always busy which I regret. I would have liked the cup in my room replaced with a mug so that I could have a proper Yorkshire brew!

Very comfortable and warm welcome.

Location in centre of Hawes was great. Room was good with all I needed for a comfortable stay - seating shelf at window so I could sit and watch the world go by, coffee pods and biscuits, good heating. There was even a fan in the wardrobe for the warmer months! Pub food in the evening.

Great place in the middle of Hawes. Lovely view over the moors. Great busy pub downstairs. Very friendly people.

Lovely hotel in gorgeous surroundings

Nice easy check in, friendly staff. Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast is made to order and absolutely delicious

Cosy stay

A cosy and welcoming village hotel. Its a perfect location and has a real family feel. Breakfast was great. We were attending an event and it was perfectly organised and catered by the staff.

Perfect location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales. Food good, especially breakfast which is provided in a lovely room.

The shower head didn’t stay up so had to be held. Twin room with big dip in one of the mattresses and tired decor. Headboards not attached to the wall so banged about every time you moved in bed. Music from pub so loud on one of the nights we stayed that you could feel the vibration in the bed and had to turn tv up really loud to compete with it.

Good central locatiion and a nice place to stay

Breakfast was great - you had to fill in a breakfast request form on the previous day, but this could be changed if you wanted. Room was good, with a reasonable bathroom - we only had a shower, but some others had baths. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good, being right in the centre of Hawes. Access to the car park at the rear was very narrow, but we managed to get our SUV in. We would stay again if visiting Hawes.

A good place for staying in Hawes

We had an overnight stay on a cycling tour. The Hotel is situated in the centre of Hawes so there's lots of choice of places to eat and to buy supplies. Booking in is straightforward, interesting bedroom door entry. Room was plain and simple and provided our needs. Shower was OK, started quite cold, got hotter and hotter(!) and obviously pressure affected by water use in other rooms. We weren't sure where breakfast was on Sunday morning but it was well-presented, very enjoyable and typical of Hawes quality.

Nothing was identified as a problem but it was a bit pricey based on our experience of using lots of hotels and B&Bs. It was August, though, and rooms in Hawes were in high demand so it's understandable. We don't live far away and have enjoyed meals at The Fountain Hotel several times and rate it highly for food and drink and will doubtless be back quite soon!

Room clean but not immaculate, damp cloth should have been used to remove sticky cup stain on bedside table. Edges of carpet were not thoroughly clean. En-suite immaculate.

Lovely stay, but a car park disaster!

Very comfortable and well equipped. Staff were excellent and the pub provided excellent food and some quality ales.

The walls are quite thin in the upstairs rooms so you can hear conversations in the next room quite easily. Thankfully, I had considerate neighbours so wasn't disturbed, but your mileage may vary. Just to echo what others have said in their reviews, the entrance to the car park is incredibly tight so be very very careful. Unfortunately, I slightly misjudged and ended up with serious scratches that will cost me a few hundred pounds to fix. If you have a large car, I'd consider parking elsewhere if you can.

Hotel with a lovely pub, perfectly located for time in the Dales. It is very much a ‘local’ hotel and pub. I have stayed here a couple of times now.

Rooms are a bit dated but are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good but only available for a short period of time in the morning but it does make you get up in good time and get on with your day.

Relaxing break

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, my packed lunch was great and so was my evening meal, top food and well presented. Chicken in Cider with crushed potatoes was lovely. So was the unusual dessert of battered wensleydale and cake balls with vanilla ice cream.
