The Cocketts is a lovely hotel with lovely quirks, which we expected. If you’re expecting smooth finishes and levels floors, choose a different hotel or place even! We had a spontaneous last minute meet up with friends. The Cocketts were fabulously accommodating. Our room was lovely, bed was comfortable, shower was hot, breakfast was made to order and delicious, we have no complaints. Super convenient and we will definitely return and recommend.

Genuinely one of the worst stays I’ve had. My room was noisy but the cleanliness of the place was the real issue. Bathroom was incredibly mouldy. Even the carpet leading in to the bathroom had started to rot. The painting and decorating can only be described as shabby at best. Needs some money investing into this room. The place was also very untidy. Boxes left lying about the place. Wouldn’t go back and to be honest I feel ripped off. £50 room at best.

Couldnt fault the hospitality and breakfast but the room was not the cleanest, with behind tv and inside drawers, incredibly dusty, dirty. Also damp was evident near door. Facilities definately needs upgrading in the rooms. Hosts were very attentive .

Booked the day before our stay, this place offered very reasonably priced accommodation. The parking is actually on the street if you can find a place, or in a local car park opposite the property The property itself is clean, rooms have everything you need, and breakfast limited to cereals, toast, spreads, hot and cold drinks and full English, but was very good. Room is a great size, unusually two chairs in the room, WiFi and TV with good range of programmes including Netflix access. En suite was good and shower great. Couple of maintenance issues, towel hoop came off as I touched it, not secure but slotted back on, paper peeling in a couple of spots. Bed also felt like it needed tightening up a bit, as they sometimes do. Felt ‘loose’ for want of a better description, but was comfortable and we slept well. Also lovely lounge area with cafe / bar. Lovely place to have access to, as well as tables and chairs in front courtyard Staff we have had contact with have all been very cheery. This place is very central being on the high street itself in Hawes.

We stayed for 1 night in the triple room. It has 3 single beds and is spacious. It's an old building so you have to look beyond the damp and mould issues. The carpet really needs replacing in the room as stained and dirty. Laminate flooring would be much better. With some tlc, the place could be amazing. The hosts are super friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order and done extremely well. Nicely cooked and presented well. Would we stay again? Yes but not in room 6.

Swift assistance on ringing the number on arrival. Room was in need of a bit of TLC. Mould near windows, flaking paint, dirty shower head etc. Outside of this it was fine! Mattress was exceedingly poor, pillows average. Anything not mentioned was not noteworthy, nor remarkable. A good breakfast however!

The shower was black mould around the outside and leeks all over the floor when used. Fire alarm went off and no staff on site that were called on the mobile and came from the pub about 5 minutes later. First breakfast was cold and unbeatable just had cereal after,overall not too cleaver will not use again!!!

Room was well equipped, clean and comfy. We had a great stay overall but it was let down slightly at breakfast with raw sausages and dirty mugs! After feeding this back to the waitress, we were made to feel like we were being avoided instead of apologising or trying to rectify the issues.

Hi we enjoyed our stay at The Cocketts Hotel in Hawes, 28th Feb 2025. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. Cooked breakfast was good, my only advice would be to give an option on egg cooking method. The current managers are working hard to improve the hotel and we wish them success with this. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Hawes.

Hotel pleasant, room clean, comfortable and lovely and warm. We had a great view from our window. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Staff very friendly, warm and welcoming. Had a 2 night break, first night great but the second night there was a dog in the room next door which barked a lot. weather not so good but walking in the rain is still fun. Would recommend this hotel

Room was cold on arrival, but soon warmed up with the electric radiator we plugged in. Staff were attentive, and breakfast was good. Nice choice of cereal/toast followed by a freshly ordered full English breakfast. Great location, comfy bed and bedding, would certainly return in the future! Great value for money.

Great place to stay, right in the centre of Hawes

The reception area was welcoming and the lady checking us in was friendly. We had a small basic room which was adequate for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. There was a problem with the TV which was temporarily fixed for our first evening. However, the problem persisted and we were able to move into another room (much larger, better quality furniture). The rooms were very clean. Some fittings such as towel rails and shower head holders need attention ( I think the managers may be relatively new to this hotel and seem to be making improvements). The breakfast was huge and had every breakfast item you can think of (good quality bacon and sausages). Overall, we had a lovely stay in this hotel and Yorkshire Dales town.
