I cannot fault anything about the White Hart. From the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the comfortable room, everything exceeded our expectations.
The choice of food on the menu was fantastic (the risotto melted in my mouth). They even made us up a cheese board after a late return one evening. Breakfast was an excellent start to the day with a large selection to choose from: the granola and yoghurt came with fresh fruit rather than compote which was marvellous.
A good selection of real ales is always a bonus and this did not disappoint.
The room was spacious and comfortable with additional seating rather than just the bed. Cleanliness was top notch in the bedroom and en suite with a good selection of toiletries.
The location of the White Hart could not have been better. Parking nearby was free: access to many walks including the Pennine Way and only a ten minute stroll to the Wensleydale Creamery.
We will most definitely return to the White Hart and strongly recommend it to anyone who appreciates value for money.

Centrally located ideal for just forgetting the car and doing many varied walks over 4-5 days. A beautifully presented Hotel-Pub with lots of character and both our room and the food was exceptional.

The room and facilities were great and the staff were very helpful pleasant and attentive. Food was very good especially the Sunday Roast, the breakfast was lovely, have never had so much salmon on an eggs royal.
Both nights that we ate at the White Hart , whilst the food was great the dining area is close to the bar and unfortunately there was no avoiding the foul language and noise from there. Not really a suitable place for families / children to eat, we found it really uncomfortable !
