Great to have the kettle and lots of milk coffee and tea to come in to after a tiring day. bedding and towels etc lovely. The staff were very polite spoke clearly and were only too happy to help . Food and atmosphere in the bar was good. Breakfast excellent.
There was not really anything I did not like. It is an old building and inn on the main road. That was fine and I used this inn for its location. The room was not modern but absolutely fine.

Fantastic location. Clean, very good food & service. Wide range of in-room drinks etc.
Road noise, a noise reducing curtain or screen would reduce this.

The room was furnished with period high quality furniture - mostly good but the chairs needed repairing.

The location for visiting York was good.
The noise. The people talking loudly until four in the morning. The busy road traffic at five in the morning. The slammed doors at six in the morning. Thankfully, the pub wasn’t too loud.
