The Barn Bed and Breakfast

This B&B is situated in a lovely countryside location and is quiet and peaceful. The owners were both very friendly, accommodating and easy to chat with. They have two lovely dogs who like a fuss and the Alpacas in the garden were an added bonus! The room was cosy and the double bed was extremely comfortable with a thick firm mattress. There was plenty of hot water for a shower, only shower gel was provided so take shampoo and conditioner. I forgot mine, so I messaged the owner from the room and they quickly came over with some. Great service! The breakfast was plentiful, it consisted of cereals, snack bars, fruit and yogurts and a couple of pastries. Although the room was warm with the electric heater on, if like me you’re a cold person, I would suggest taking a hot water bottle for night. All in all we had a lovely stay, thank you.

There’s nothing we didn’t like, we will definitely return, but a couple of things we feel could improve our experience would be… An electric heater that is thermostatically controlled rather than just on or off. A heater in the bathroom as it was a bit nippy. A few big rugs either side of the bed as the wood floor was cold!

Everything was fine, it was pleasantly warm in the room, this was very important to me, I am a very cold type. Gary was helpful, kind and attentive, he informed me about everything, I can only recommend them. If necessary, I will definitely book a room with them. Thank you for everything.

Stayed here before when meeting up with family over six years ago .Had a wonderful stay then and it was just the same this time . Lovely accommodation, lovely location and lovely host 😁

Nothing not to like

The room was modern and very clean. It was cosy and warm even with winter temperatures outside. The bathroom was equally nice with a powerful shower. Breakfast consisted of a good variety of pastries, fruit and cereal and tea, coffee and orange juice. We walked into the nearby village for dinner, there is a great Tapas restaurant which we can recommend. The next day we used the bus that leaves from a stop 5 minutes away and takes you into the centre of Liverpool- no need to move the car which we appreciated after a long drive up.

The accommodation is in the flight path for Liverpool Airport so planes fly over the house. However, we didn't feel disturbed by that and they don't fly at night.

The property was well maintained, and the service was excellent. We were welcomed on arrival and provided with a generous continental style breakfast in the room.

Lovely kind hosts! Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We were a little late to arrive than we arranged but it was no problem. Heater had been put on in our room and it was cosy and welcoming. The items for breakfast in the morning were very fresh and plentiful, with a little fridge to keep milk nicely chilled. There were 3 cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit and numerous wee snacks and cookies plus tea, coffee hot chocolate and water provided in the fridge too! The bathroom was lovely with nice hand wash and shower gel provided. The bed was very comfy and the bed linen very soft, we had a lovely peaceful night's sleep. This couple are lovely hosts who have really thought of everything to make your stay great and are genuinely nice people.We would return here in a heart beat! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Second time I've stayed here, and I've booked to stay again in a few weeks and plan to book here regularly for the majority of my work trips. It is just the best place.

We struggled with the coldness of the room

Following a courtesy call to inform of our arrival, the gate was opened, we were greeted and shown to the room, following a friendly chat everything in the room was explained, heating, TV, WIFI, breakfast items and the gate code to let ourselves out in the morning

The property was on a very quiet street/ lane so was ideal for me as someone who is a light sleeper. It was secure with an electric gate accessible for people staying/ owners so we both felt safe. The room we were in was also very gorgeous with exposed brick and support beams.

I was disappointed when booking said it was continental breakfast only but I really enjoyed it and there was an excellent selection available.

It was a very clean and lovely house with massive grasslands nearby. The location is also excellent, being just 10 minutes drive to the airport. The landlord, Gary and Jenny, were very friendly, not just help me warm my room before my arrival, but also very kind and friendly to drive me to the nearest train station and trying to drive me to the airport , as well as giving me recommendations on sightseeings.

We loved everything about The Barn. From the minute we arrived we were made very welcome. It is in a beautiful location and there is everything you need in the room which is lovely with an en suite bathroom. There are lots of food supplies for your breakfast or whenever you decide to eat...fruit, biscuits, cereal bars, Muller rice, yoghurt, coffee, tea, milk, water. Excellent value and the location is ideal for Liverpool Airport which is a few minutes drive away. We will definitely stay here again when flying from Liverpool.

There is nothing to dislike about this accommodation.
