A hidden gem, with wonderful hosts!

The location was incredible, close enough to old town but far enough away to get some peace and quiet. The closer access to the beach next to the property was the best part!

The only downside was the quality of the bedding, but that is a small downside.

Super location for seeing the best of Split

Brilliant location with access to the sea from the end of the garden and a pleasant 20 minute walk from the city centre. The apartment was very clean and had all the facilities we needed to cater for ourselves. Lju was a very friendly host and we loved trying to make friends with some of her many cats 🙂 the apartment can lack natural light at times but this wasn't a problem for us as we were mostly out and about during the daytime.

Exceptional

Lju, our hostess, was incredibly sweet. The house is majestic and the property is stunning. Yes, it may be a bit overgrown in places, but that holds a charm in itself. And you can't beat that location! The property is located in one of Split's better neighborhoods, nestled at the foot of the city nature preserve. It's quiet, yet close to everything. The sea is accessible right outside the gate past the garden. You can jump in for a swim in front of the property or walk merely 5 minutes to a nearby beach. In the evening you have prime access for watching the sunset. The walk to the city center is absolutely doable, in about 20 minutes, but for those with mobility issues there's a bus station nearby. Ubers are also extremely affordable in Split. A small grocery store is a short walk away. While dining out in Split is very reasonably priced, I'd recommend considering cooking at home. The kitchen is stocked with everything necessary to dine in. The hostess, Lju, is very kind. She's there for a little chat if you want to, but also gives you privacy if that's what you desire. We enjoyed chatting with her and petting some of the cats she so sweetly takes care of. What a wonderful soul!]

Old villa with cats

Perfect location beautiful old villa, garden with setting area for relax after beach. Magnetic sea view. Walking distance to city center. Everything you need for vacation. The cats are very cutes.

Charming apartment in a beautiful villa by the sea

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a beautiful renaissance villa, facing a verdant garden that leads down to the sea. It is a beautiful setting and a perfect location from which to enjoy Split. You can walk down to the beach in 2 minutes, you can walk to the city centre in 20 minutes. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, they make you feel like home. Overall, we had a delightful experience and we will happily come back again!

Historic location makes you appreciate it and enjoy it even more.

The property is located in the nicest and most desirable place to live in Split. It has its own gate to the beach from the property. It has its architectural value since it was built by famous architect Josip Kodl for Ante Tresić Pavičić’s family. Sculptor Ivan Meštrović who lived close by used to come and visit his friend in this place. It makes you imagine what was it like to live in the past century here. Something like out of the movies. Definitely going back here when I visit Split again.

Nice and friendly hosts but should be caring much-much more with the quality of guest catering.

Definitely the location, the friendly hosts, their cats and the entrance of the garden to the seaside.

On the first day the flat was really cold, and we could not properly heat it because the air conditioning was working only for around half an hour. We also realized that the owners or some of the owners were smoking in their flat since smoke was coming in through the door which was separating the flat from the owners. It was really embarassing, we hate smoke. The microwave oven did not contain any plates inside and in fact there was a dead insect inside it! In the bathroom and at one place of the room, spider webs were hanging down from the top. The small room did not have any windows.

Good

Historic site. The mansion belonged to the Croatian writer and politician Ante Tresić Pavičić. Now part of the mansion and the territory belong to the great-granddaughter, who rents the apartments. She is a very elderly woman and it is difficult for her to look after the site. And the park is magnificent, with excellent access to the sea.

Neighbors (owners of a part of the mansion). The apartment is located in a semi-basement, on the level next to the neighbors' garage.

Exceptional

The apartment had everything we needed. Because it was at a beautiful location by the sea we made a lot of our own breakfasts and evening meals to eat by the sea because most restaurants don't have a view like that. The air conditioning was modern and worked well on a very hot week. The location also means an easy, attractive walk into town and there's regular bus services. Next door to a gallery and museum. Supermarkets nearby, and a walk or bus to one of the two best beaches in Split on the west side of Marjan. Lju was friendly, helpful and very interesting to talk to. We want to return here again in the future.

The best stay in Split

Super location, One of the best possible properties in Split. Too bad is only one room to be rented. The garden is fantastic and can become a tourist attraction on its own, with due effort. We loved the cats and teh beautiful exit to the sea and beach (only 150 meters away). Room was extra roomy. Extra bed was perfect for the child and kitchen had everything.

Disappointing

Location is fantastic!

This was supposed to be a one-bedroom studio, but the ‘room’ was the size of a bed and had no windows nor ventilation nor aircon, so we could not use it for our 5 year old daughter. The ‘studio’ itself was a converted garage with no windows (the door was half made of glass, so that was where the light came from). The airco did not work properly and it was above 35 celsius during the day +27 at night.

Shabby chic place to stay on the Adriatic 15 minutes walk from Diocletion's Palace in Split.

At one time this was an exceptional and large Italian villa located right on the Adriatic. Now it is a shabby chic place to stay. The villa is owned by several people, and Jelena who owns a part of the villa rents out the bottom back portion as this apartment. Clean inside, but a bit dark, it is in a wonderful location nearly across the street from the Archeological Museum, and only 15 minutes walk to the old town and Diocletions Palace (a must see place -- better than Dobrovnik!). We dropped our rental car we had the first week at the Split Airport (20 minutes north of Split just 2 minutes from Trogir), and then arranged transport with a person that Jelena knew. A bit expensive but convenient to get to her villa. Jelena was very helpful to us. We went sailing one day with Sunburst Sailing (highly recommended). Call Ure if you need a rickshaw ride from the villa into town, or all the way across Split to the Ferry -- just 70 kuna for the 15 minute ride to the ferry! Well worth it. By the way, the most impressive thing of this property is the cement patio that is located directly on the Adriatic -- a great place to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. You can also swim at this location in the Adriatic.

Jelena's mother who is there during the daytime is a nice old woman, but her English is limited. She owns 24 cats and several dogs that run around the property, but do not get into the apartment. It is a bit unnerving with so many of them, and at times, you can smell them around the property. A bit more shabby than I would have liked, but with 4 people owning the property, it must be difficult to get funds to fill in holes in the cement walkways around the villa. The garden between the villa and the Adriatic is run down and very dry looking (we were there mid-September. Still, a decent place to stay.

Apartman je u prizemlju vile. Okrenut je prema moru. Lokacija je odlična, na plažu dolazite za minut direktno iz vrta. Osoblje je vrlo gostoljubivo i prijateljski raspoloženo.
