Guesthouse Vavitsas

Comfortable room, good mattresses, very clean and spacious. The terrace/balcony is very nice work a great view at the Meteora rocks. Friendly staff. Fridge and water boiler in the room. Close to the cosy village center with several taverns and a supermarket. Everything was impeccable, clean and well maintained. Corner with free coffee and tea. Great place to explore the Meteora monasteries by car or hiking.

Apartment had everything we needed for our 2 day tour of the monasteries. Great location, very quiet, value for money. Free parking.

Bit dated but functional.

The guesthouse is located about as close as you can stay to the Meteora monasteries, in the relatively peaceful town of Kastraki. We particularly enjoyed the sufficiently spacious room, private balcony from which you can see the tour buses go by, coffee in the morning, and comfy (hard, which we elder millenials with lower back support requirements liked) bed. Staff is very friendly! Ask him for anything you might need (in our case: a bottle opener and two wine glasses) - chances are it's no issue at all to provide the items or info. This guesthouse is also perfectly situated in case you enjoy hiking. The walk up to St. Nicholas Anapafsas and hike up to the Great Meteoron, Varlaam and Roussanou via the paths less traveled was both demanding and rewarding.

Our stay was lovely, but some details could use some attention. For instance, the bad mat and shower curtain had both seen better days.

The receptionist was very kind, there is a coffee stand in the shared space

The walls are paper thin - heard everything that happened in the hallway and the next room.
