About this house rental

Idyllically located right on the water at one of Northland's most exquisite and quintessential NZ beach locations, right by the Bay of Islands. This is a kiwi bach and bay that will take you right back to NZ the way it used to be. A safe swimming white sand bay, on a summer's day dotted with boatie's ancient tractors. An estuary and lagoon 'designed' for toddler's paddling. Great diving and fishing literally hundreds of metres off this great coastal beach. Scallops, paua and mussels in the vicinity. A surf beach within 20 minutes coastal walk. The Cavalli Islands just 15 minutes boat ride north and the Bay of Islands a similar distance south. Tapuaetahi Beach is a private bay that is never crowded though only 20 mins from the cafes of Kerikeri.

The house is a real 60's kiwi bach. Just 25m from the broad veranda to the sea, yet very private. From here you can watch the day unfold, or dine and entertain at the large outdoor table. The house has 4 bedrooms that has frequently hosted 2 families. In the bach you will be comfortable and feel at home.

Tapuaetahi is so private it is very hard to find on maps; find a detailed map of Northland, locate the Bay of Islands (BOI), the peninsula at the northern side of the BOI is called Purerua. Tapuaetahi is at the base of the northern side of the peninsula - south of Takou Bay and next to Taronui Bay.

A very, very special place; if you come here you will return. With a boat you have access to some of the best diving and fishing NZ has to offer. Rock fishing is exceptional - snapper and crays from bottom of garden. If you don't, you can walk the coast to isolated surf beaches and bring home a feed of tuatua. Sunbathe or swim in the estuary, lagoon or white sandy beach, or fish or snorkel from the rugged coastal rocks. Feel like a change take in the cafes of Kerikeri (15 mins), day trip to Russell (Bay of Islands), 90 Mile Beach, or Monganui famous for fish'n'chips, or golf at Kauri Cliffs.

Two kayaks provided free for use.
