An exceptional experience enhanced by an outstanding owner who loves what he does & excels at it...

Breakfast was EXCELLENT. The owner, Paul, served us personally out in the courtyard. The weather was great, and their rabbits are very entertaining, running around the yard the whole time. We stayed in the nautical room, which is huge. There's a study, a common area & private bathroom. There's a tour & history given after chow. It's very informative & interesting. You're right in the heart of town, and Bardstown is very walkable & safe. Lots of restaurants, shops & bars just minutes away on foot. We will definitely stay here again.

The location was great, the breakfast was delicious but most of all the “family” staff were wonderful…so accommodating, especially the 7am coffee right outside our door.

The Jailer's Inn is a supremely comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of the city.

Breakfast was very homley and family style Paul and the crew made some excellent home-cooked dishes that exceeded our expectations, the history/location tour was great and the staff were very knowledgeable about the history of the town and their site.

No complaints, the rooms, staff, amenities and family style patio breakfasts exceeded our expectations.

Breakfast was outside, conditions were unsanitary (pet rabbit poop was everywhere, ants all over the breakfast tables. We did not eat the morning breakfast. Parking for elderly or handicap folks is very bad.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique property!

The breakfast was excellent. It was fresh and delicious. Paul, the owner was very gracious and welcoming. You could tell he cared about his guests. We enjoyed our tour of the jail. The location of the property was perfect for us. We were a block away from the shops and restaurants and we enjoyed walking to them many times during our stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Paul is definitely in the right business, he’s amazing! The room was big, furnished beautifully. The bed so comfortable. Breakfast in the courtyard was excellent as was the jail tour.

Lovely room in a unique venue. The jail in the back of the building and its history were fascinating. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very accommodating. The location in the center of town was perfect.

Fantastic property and incredible breakfast. Scott the innkeeper was informative and friendly. We will definitely make this a regular destination!

Bring your own pillow - only issue we had was that the pillows were small hard foam squares.

Staying at an Old Jail

Staying at the Jailer's Inn was such an awesome and interesting experience! Who would have thought that people will actually be willing to book a stay at an old Jail and enjoy it?! It was a memorable experience with clean amenities and alot of history. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and we even had a friendly bunny Max on site to help eat some of our blueberries from breakfast! Paul the Jailer was a hoot! Will definitely want to stay again.

The location was very good, in downtown Bardstown.

This is a quirky property and more museum like than a bed and breakfast. Room was large but gloomy and dusty. Fixtures and fittings are old and property just feels a bit rundown. Appreciate the wish to preserve the history but there is a way to balance fresh/well kept with old and original. Breakfast was outside and the garden is not well maintained. Breakfast itself was ok.

Unique, fun with a touch of luxury.

This was a very different experience. The ambience blended with the history was very unique. Breakfast was exceptional. “The Jailer” was informative and very entertaining. We’ll worth the visit while in Bourbon Country.
