The only complaint I have is the pillows. They were very “knotty” is how I can think to describe them. Minor complaint considering everything else was great.

Okay, but nothing more.

We have stayed here going to and from Big Bend for years. It has a good location for us, a full-size fridge (great, as we take a large cooler of food with us, and this allows us to refreeze all the coldpacs), and it is reasonably comfortable.

It is definitely getting run down and shabby and needs some freshening up.

Dirty, Worn, and Some Cold Food

On our last day, the staff member on duty that day was very friendly and helpful

Not Clean - Bathrooms were filthy, like it had never been cleaned. We changed rooms. Next room cleanliness was better but not totally clean either. We bought supplies and cleaned. Yep, it was sad. The carpets in the hallway were shredding outside the elevator area. Breakfast - Some of the hot food was kept between paper plates and was cold. No variety of sauces for eggs, just 1. No cheese. No meat available for those who do not eat pig. Staff - Eating at the registration desk. Bathrooms Supplies - Only toilet paper. No soap and shampoo, till we asked.

The elevator didn’t work, they front desk started harassing me before I woke up at 8am, three hours before check out for $4. They called or sent housekeeping four times even though I told them I’d be down at check out. Could not sleep because walls were too thin to not hear everything. And couldn’t sleep in because of jarring staff. Over $4

We were disappointed with our stay. We had driven 9 hours to get there and really needed a good nig.

The volume on our tv didn’t work. The desk clerk went up and tried to fix it, but couldn’t. She had one room available but it was on the first floor. It was late and we were tired and didn’t want to move all of our luggage. Also, there was no stopper for the bathtub so no one could take a bath.

I won’t book at this hotel again.

I stayed here a few years ago & since then, the rooms have gone way down in quality. The furniture upholstery was stained/dirty, the carpet frayed, the lamps & doorframes terribly rusted. There were dead bugs in the bathroom light fixture, the toilet paper holder was falling off the cabinet, a light in the main room didn’t work & the floors were sticky. I didn’t take off my shoes or sit on any of the chairs. The bed was very hard.

AC unit sounded like chain saw every time it went off and did not cool room well: staff smoking outside entry and had to walk thru a cigarette cloud of smoke to enter lobby; room superficially clean but stains and ?. on seats of chairs, lots of crumbs and dirt still on floor and window sill and all ledges in room, floor, carpet fel sticky underfoot( tried to keep shoes on all the time after that). can’t understand how a hotel has only one ice machine( which was broken and hence no ice available).

Very good! The woman in charge of it was about the only positive of the whole damn place!

They never were able to get a working phone for us. The furniture had apparently never been dusted. The pull-up sink stopper was missing. The overflow drain for the sink was caked w/ gray crud resembling whisker shavings. Lighting was a joke!
