Cheap, convenient, no frills

Price was attractive. Accommodated changing rooms with little difficulty. Bed was very comfortable.

Night desk person was eating while I arrived, then burped loudly at the computer while looking upy booking. I mean really loudly. Didn't say 'excuse me'.just kept typing. First room's heater gave off a bad smell, so we switched rooms, which was better. There were about a dozen unhoused people who seemed to gather at the road--not quite a camp, but you should definitely lock the car at night.

Went for a tournament so the hotel served its purpose. Beds were comfy so we came home well rested.

Pros - location. Went for a lacrosse tournament and the fields were right behind the hotel. Beds were clean and comfortable.

Front desk could’ve been more helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is old and definitely looks its age. It’s rundown. Toilets barely flushed and bathtub took a while to drain. Our room was on the 3rd floor and IT STUNK up there. Not our room specifically but the other end of the hotel. It would sometimes waft down the hallway and into our room but with the open window it would clear out. Families actually left and went to another hotel cause they couldn’t bear the smell. Walls are thin, you could hear voices and tvs from rooms above and next door. Lots of homeless around and on the grounds. Don’t leave anything of value in your car.

Decent hotel with great location but needs upgrading and improvement.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is very close to downtown and to food services nearby. The parking is plentiful. Shower is hot and warms up quickly. Lots of towels. Microwave and mini-fridge in the room is quite convenient.

I have stayed at this hotel before, every year, and this year was the worst. The breakfast was decent before and is now quite lousy. Neighborhood has become rough (though the security is solid at the hotel). The walls feel very thin as every noise from outside could be heard. Worst thing was the room had a funky smell that came from the air-conditioner.

The breakfast could have been better. I don't know how the scrambled eggs were made but they were mealy to me, like I would expect eggs made from dry egg mix. We stayed at the Country Suites PDX our first night in town and they made scrambled eggs that were great. I would think that as something as simple as this, they would do the same thing at all locations.

Very good place with many plusses

Large room, good bed and excellent large screen TV. Fridge, microwave and good bath. Plus to have a small market next door. The breakfast is good and all-day coffee station in lobby. The staff is good upfront. It's a comfortable place and certainly very good overall -- I have stayed here before.

It was okay- not sure I would choose again

Beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant.

Homeless camps next to property- no restaurants nearby except Burger King. Breakfast offerings weren’t great- no fresh fruit except banana. Smell of cigarette smoke in rooms Rounded shower curtain bar took up too much space so constantly moving curtain. Only clean rooms every third day- so we never had room cleaned or trash picked up or fresh towels- things I would expect for the daily price.

Surrounded by homeless camps, so unsafe even public entrance is locked 24hours. Interior halls smell like stale smoke, their was construction on the location starting early am. Drug deals and prostitution observed. Avoid this location unless desperate.

All in all it was a good experience, as long as you stayed inside.

Very clean and comfortable.

Surrounding areas. Did not feel safe. Homeless everywhere. Laundry room had 2 washers and 2 dryers. 1 dryer did not work. Ended up taking 3 hours to do one load of laundry because we were not the only ones using facilities. Main elevator didn’t work properly. We would get in and nothing happened. It was a hit and miss every time we got in.

We had a very annoying loud neighbor, couldn’t fall asleep until 4 am because he was hysterically laughing all the time since 8 pm through 4 am. Likely, the staff helped us resolve that issue. Breakfast was very poor. The location is horrible.

Excellent value, comfortable rooms and yummy 🍳 breakfast.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel common areas were nice, the room was big and the bed was very comfortable. It was even possible to open the window in the room, which was nice. They had a really good breakfast, including being able to make your own waffles! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The only drawback one could mention is that there are homeless people around the hotel but they were not really a bother.

Beds and bathroom were comfortable. We got rooms overlooking soccer fields which was nice. Breakfast and staff were nice. Location convenient to the soccer tournament and freeway access.

Unhoused overran the parking lot, almost all were high and out of their elements. The side doors to the building sporadically worked with our key cards which made it feel even more unsafe when unhoused were right up next to the building digging through trash. Building had terrible smell to mask the cigarette/pet smells. Our key cards prematurely stopped working so we had to get them rekeyed. Ice vending didn’t work on 4th floor, our stay. Took us an hour to checkin.

The staff member that helped me cancel my reservation was very nice, understanding, and helpful. That person likely deserves a raise.

Yikes! There was easily 50 homeless people in the parking lot and surrounding the hotel. One guy had a baseball bat strapped to him and was casing cars in the parking lot. I saw several others doing drugs. A group was also rolling a Lowes pallet of Istolen goods through the parking lot. I was too fearful to get out and even go check in with all the activity I saw in the first 5 minutes of pulling in. Did not feel that myself, daughter, or vehicle was going to be safe. Would probably be fine if you didn't have a car and didn't leave the hotel. They need to invest in a fence and security guard to fix this problem.

The staff was awesome. The bed mattress was comfy.

The location was sketchy. The parking lot requires a lot of lights given the location. The breakfast needs work too like the frequency of food refills and space to sit down and eat. The rooms are old and so is the carpet.

Where to start the receptionist both need a few lessons in customer service the young man on this evening and afternoon has a terrible attitude and yawning all the time , I have a health problem which means I need extra pillows all I got was we have run out they is a problem with laundry . I am so disappointed in this hotel we have used the chain before with excellent quality. We haven’t got to bed of had breakfast yet but I am so dissatisfied I have booked 3 rooms one of the rooms had marks on the cover we had to change it ourselves.

When booking this hotel we were not aware that it is in an area of a homeless encampment. They were also doing noisy work on the place with no notification of it!

All in all the stay was quite good. The bed was very comfortable.

One of the bedside lights in our room was burned out. The bulb needed replacement. Also the toilet handle would fall off if you were not careful when flushing it.

Very nice hotel in a not so nice neighborhood.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The entire facility was well kept and clean. The staff is very welcoming. Nice hotel overall.

Though the location is good to hop on I5, I would not choose to walk around the neighborhood due to what appears to be homeless and drug related activities. This is a shame because it's a very nice hotel.

Frustrating, with staff needing a course in saying “I am sorry, how can I make your stay better”.

The hotel had nice common spaces, good breakfast and cookies all day.

The housekeeping cart banged into our wall EVERY morning starting at 7am and continued off and on for at least 1/2 hour. We were on vacation not planning to rise early every day. We received a text upon arrival that housekeeping services would be every 3rd day. NOPE, you have to request housekeeping. Nowhere in the room, near the front desk, or on my booking information did it say that. When I spoke with front desk they acted like it my fault for not knowing and said “we don’t control the texts”. And the garbage in the hall outside our door every morning and night was very smelly. Our daughter just moved to Portland and we had hoped that Country Inn would be our hub when visiting her, I am not so sure that we will rebook after this experience.
