I had gone through booking.com to reserve a King room with a sofa bed for my family reunion. My price was 552.16 plus a 100 deposit. My wife and I checked in at Marriott Bonvoy 8/1 for a 3-day stay in Hammond IN. The lady who was working the desk greeted me and I gave her my information to get checked in. She took my payment for what I had reserved. Upon entering my room I noticed that we were placed in the wrong room because I didn't see a sofa bed. I even went back to your website to confirm.
I went back to inform the lady who checked me in that I was in the wrong room. This is where I have a problem. If I never said anything she would have fully charged me for a room I didn't have. Yes, she said "Oh I didn't know that room didn't have a sofa bed" then turns around and says we are sold out of those rooms. If you're sold out AND already knew then why would you still check me in and CHARGE me the same price?
So I asked her what happened and it seems to me she wasn't honest upfront. She first offered me a double bed, then 25.00 off my bill. I was very upset and voiced my concern over how this situation was handled. Because I go back to my original thought, if I never said anything she would've charged me for a room I didn't have. She finally offered me 50.00 off my room and I accepted. This is a very bad look. This was our first time staying in one of your hotels. If I can't trust the people you employ I may have to use other hotels for all future stays as we travel. Also, our tv only worked the first five minutes we were there. I asked for assistance from the evening and day time receptionist and neither one followed through with my issue.

We had a problem with the reservation. We live in illionis and this property would not take the paper ID that was issued to my daughter. We had to leave and get things transferred to me which was 2 hours latter. We didn't like that breakfast was not included. It was expensive so we went out.

Staff was friendly. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. Our room was on the part that had recently been remodeled and it looked very nice. Great water pressure.
No cable TV. Wanted to settle down and watch football and we tried to tune the tv a couple times but it didn't help; I called down and all he said was yes they have cable; well, it didn't work.

I liked that I was able to check in late
The hotel had a difficult time finding my reservation. I asked many times if there was an issue. I could clearly tell by the look on the front desk persons face I was in trouble. After waiting for so much time , the front desk staff was able to get another staff member in the phone. I should’ve just called you guys because I found out after checking out the next day that they charged me for an additional room smh. Oh if they gaping to make that mistake you have to wait 3-5 business days for it to possibly returned back into your card.

The bed was large and comfortable. The room overnight was quieter than expected, despite being right off the highway. Staff were friendly and responsive (I had no complaints or issues that needed to be resolved).
Both the lobby and room had odd smells to them. The room smelled oddly sweet, but not in a good way. The buttons on the TV remote had to be mashed to work. The elevator would jump and start to move before the door had closed; that was unsettling. The breakfast at the in-hotel restaurant was very underwhelming, but the staff were very kind. I also appreciated the free coffee.

Diana at the front desk was really nice and helpful. We were not happy with our room, so I requested a refund.
The location did not look good from the outside. Then once we checked in the room smelled like dirty carpet, the walls had patches and everything was outdated. We did not stay here. Had to book another room at a different hotel as we were not comfortable here.

Hotel is very clean! Modern decor beautiful lobby and bar area! Loved our room with the balcony! The young lady that checked us in was amazing! Wish I would have got her name. Nice selection of snacks and drinks. Will definitely be staying here again.
Not much to complain about highway noise is a little loud at times but no biggie.

nothing much it was just basic
there was mold in the bathtub under where you hold the soap and all around the edges of the bathtub, the entire room smelled of heave cigarette smoke including the top cover of the blanket, you can tell they never dust the inside of the drawers it was full of dust, there was no blanket, a sheet on top of a thin blanket is not suffice for comfort
