Dream Inn on the ocean with attractive decore, a great pool and hot tub looking right on the beach

The location was fantastic! And there were pods of whales we could see from our balcony so we went down to the pier and spent a couple hours just enjoying whale watching:)

Price would be pretty steep for me if I hadn’t been able to spit it with my friend.

There were some minor repairs that needed to be done. Light switch by bed was missing, hot water faucet in bathroom was missing a metal piece on top and rip on the wallpaper above bed.

Need a place to lay back and chill? Look no further!

We were on the 9 th floor w a fabulous view of the ocean and the pier. We were on R and R mode so the setting and view were perfect. Right on the beach so perfect for casual beach walks.

It is a nice property, was clean, but felt a bit worn. ( specifically the shower head, the carpet )

The view was excellent, we had a lovely full length view of the pier. The room was very cute, I loved the multiple seating areas both on the balcony and in our room. The valet's were really nice and very helpful.

The A/C didn't work, and it was incredibly loud. It never dropped below 77 degrees in our room so it was uncomfortable to sleep in.

Worth it if you care a lot about the view

We were on the 9th floor. Pool area was nice with a bar and menu. There was beach access from the pool area; this section of the beach is less busy due to the location. Parking $35, valet $40 so not much more. Had a better room price with Booking.com than calling the hotel directly from the # on their website, which went to a call center that tried to claim a lot of wrong things about Booking, then they hung up on me after I said I was going with Booking for literally $200 cheaper for the same room. Room service food (breakfast) arrived warm and well prepared. Our room had an L-couch with table which was really nice. Heard waves easily from balcony.

Room was visibly worn; shampoo was in the spot where hand soap should be next to sink; overall room itself was similar to a $300 or less level - and the other $500+ for the room was because of the view. We basically paid for the view and direct beach access. Lobby Coffee Bar not open for much of the day. Single ply toilet paper.

Well there is not enough space !!! I will be brief i paid close to 600 UsD a night. For this price it was frankly very disappointing. Had to remind to get room made up except for last day when they knocked three times. I checked out and was asked if I had a car. I replied no twice and then was presented with a bill for three nights parking. I disputed this. She had already charged it to my room … so I hope has now been refunded. Really, really mediocre. Santa Cruz deserves better.

the best was very still and uncomfortable for us. we ended up having to get a mattress topper from target just to be able to sleep the second night. If you like stiff beds then this is great for you but we were very uncomfortable.

This location is a 12/10. Pool access, beach access, and location to the pier and boardwalk was perfect! The room service from the hotel restaurant was fresh and healthy. Stunning views and the staff at valet were AMAZING!

It started off terrible and ended up nice. Wish the whole thing had been nice for them.

They loved their food at the restaurant and loved the room they ended up getting in the end. They had been long time Santa Cruz residents and love coming back regularly to the Dream Inn.

I gifted my parents a two night stay at Dream Inn. My parents are 80 years old and felt like they were not treated nicely by the woman at the front desk. They were given a room directly across the pool on the 1st floor that even their bell hop who was really nice said staff have suggested it be turned into a bathroom because of its location. My parents went back to the front and asked for a different room. The woman said she was working on it but let my parents wait almost 40 minutes standing next to lobby desk. Keep in mind they are 80 years old. It wasn’t until my dad said let’s cancel and go home this is ridiculous that magically she suddenly had their room ready. They felt she didn’t like they had asked for a different room and they felt like they were dismissed because of their age and were very disappointed on how she interacted with them. Unfortunately they didn’t get her name. It made me sad to hear about their experience because this was a present for their 80th birthdays and our family just wanted them to have a ln amazing time. It just takes one person to make it a bad experience.
