Location location location. Easy walk to boardwalk and beach and owners are very nice.

While always budget, it did used to have coffee in lobby if not in rooms. While rooms do have fridge and microwave, lack of coffee was felt.

Issues with deposit, standard room, cockroach.

The property was close in proximity to the beach. Standard room.

I had an issue with my bank and the property taking out 2x the refundable deposit. It seems to all have been reversed 4 days later but was annoying on the trip to be 100 dollars less than I had originally budgeted for. The room was pretty standard. On the hard side of a bed, microwave and fridge. I stayed for one day and in the morning I found a cockroach on the bathroom mirror. When I tried to ask the manager about my money and try to get it worked out I did bring up the cockroach and made to feel like I was just saying it to be inflammatory as he didn’t seem bothered by it. I wouldn’t stay there again if it were me. It did have a cheap price point though.

Overall Great stay, front desk was helpful with check in.

The property is located a couple of block from the Boardwalk and is within walking distance of the beach. Location is a little complicated to get to, but that is only because the city use of one way streets. not a faults of the property.

The Parking was a little sketchy to get into, specifically because it is on a small hill, when you are done parking depending on your spot you could be on an incline or an at odd angle

I was to receive a credit but have not yet.

Stayed last year close to beach.

Someone broke into our room in middle of the night. Window was a fire window we was told after asking of how odd it was and with screen . No other room had a window like this room we was in. And it had a funky lock and screen. Staff and police called with many cameras that captured video and pictures of the break in. Glad for the cameras. The man returned again to be caught and seen coming back to property. But then took off when questioned by staff. Police came also receiving video and I then press charges with the police when asked if I would like to. Be on guard when windows face outside of a hotel or motel entrance unsafe.

the only good thing was location

the location was perfect, right next to the beach everything was walkable

the sheets were stained, the towels had hair in them, the shower curtain rod was about to fall off the wall. The bed was missing a support beam so the bed kept making horrible noises and kept rolling around. I ask for a new room and wasn't able to get one. The staff made me come to the front when I asked for new towels and all they did was leave it out side and was really rude on the phone

Good for families or individuals on a budget.

We loved that the hotel was only a 4 minute walk to the beach and to the pier!! We got the double beds in the room and it was spacious for our family. The room was cleaned daily for us and we appreciated it.

The beds could have been comfier, it was a bit hard. The parking was also awkward since it was on an uphill slope. There is no elevator and only stairs so it made lugging the suitcases and coolers hard. The bathtub and sink did not drain very well also.

The only good thing I have to say is the location is good to walk to the boardwalk and pier

This hotel is old, dingy and so uncomfortable. Parking is bad, my car actually ended up getting scratched significantly by another guest pulling into a space by me. The bed, pillows and bedding are uncomfortable. The blanket was old and stained. The air conditioning system smelled like mildew every time it turned on. The majority of plugs by the bed did not work. There is one iron for the entire hotel to share. I will never stay here again. I’d rather pay an extra $100/night to stay at a nicer hotel.

It was much quieter than I anticipated. We were only there one night.

There were no amenities such as continental breakfast or coffee. The room was very outdated and the bathroom was oddly configured .there was no closet and no suitcase holder.

The location is excellent...!!! The receptionist who checked us in was a very warm and inviting gentleman. It is always good to get that feeling when traveling with kids.

The clean bed had a sand like white crumbs between the sheet....was very annoying and had to shake/brush them out. It seemed never-ending...walls are pretty thin.

Severely disappointed and a waste of money

I paid $400+ for one night and I was highly disappointments. The room was dingy and low budget. Upon arrival a small cockroach was found running across the linen. The furniture was stained and unsightly. The shower towels were thin and low quality. In my opinion the price did not reflect the poor quality. The lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. This was a last minute reservation but I will not stay here again.

The worst part of this entire stay was the high price for the very poor quality of the room and amenities. I will not stay here again

The staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel is a half a block from the wharf and it's an easy 5-minute walk to the boardwalk. The grounds and rooms are clean, and the bed was comfortable.

Budget lodgings in the heart of the Santa Cruz beachfront

The location is only a block from the Santa Cruz Pier and an easy walk to the Beach Boardwalk. While the rooms are basic, they are comfortable; one is paying for the location. Parking is free and security of the parking lot enforced. The rooms also contain a microwave and tiny mini-refrigerator, which is a great convenience.

The plumbing was in poor shape, with a leak in the bathroom sink and the knob for the tub/shower loose; it would come off in one's hand. People with mobility issues should know that this property is on a steep hill and so even the 'ground floor' rooms involve dealing with a very steep slope. Rooms on the upper level require negotiating multiple flights of steps; there are no lifts. Also be aware that there is no coffee maker or teapot in the room.

proximity to the wharf. rooms were well maintained. staff very helpful. I felt safe which is important to me. I’ve been buy this hotel many many times over the last 40 years and this is the first time I actually stayed here. I’m glad I did and will be back.
