Location was fantastic, breakfast was not bad and the staff was friendly. The room was clean. Great views, has all the basic amenities. Outdoor seating must be nice in season.

The place looks and feels really tired. We were in one of the rooms in the row to the side of the parking lot. (3 beds, 5 of us). It was cold and the heat from the heater was too much for the front bed but never reached the back room.

First time to Santa Cruz

Said view but wasn't really a view. You could see the beach at a distance. People hanging out on the steps with a dog that just about bit my 3 year old while trying to get back to our room. Also did not like falling down the wet stairs in the morning upon checking out. Another guest did the same.

Cozy and relaxed

The place is comfortable. It's a great location, perched on a small hill directly overlooking the wharf and boardwalk.

The only thing I didn't like didn't involve the hotel directly, but the street just outside, with a very extreme curve that doesn't deter a lot of drivers going way over the speed limit. So if you cross it be extra careful.

Great location, great service, you get what you pay for

The staff was incredibly kind! The location was superb, and they were very accommodating and celebrated our anniversary for us!

Our bathroom was filled with many hairs upon arrival that were not ours, my husband brought this to their attention, and when the housekeeping arrived and cleaned the following day, the bathroom still had the same hairs in the same places that were not ours. Also, the screen for the bathroom sink had been removed and water sprayed everywhere, we had brought this up to their attention, but their maintenance guy was not in so yeah water is free everywhere. Lastly, there was no drain plug in the sink and I almost lost my wedding band down the sink.

Great stay fabulous location!

Great stay with helpful and friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable it is not a fancy place but basic with a great location! View from our room was the wharf and was beautiful! Breakfast was also nice with make your own waffle, fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, juices and more! I would stay here again! Parking was free for the winter!

Excellent location, very close to the wharf and the beaches. Comfy bed and nice floors.

The welcome surprise bracelets were a nice touch. The host lady was very kind and nice. Laundry is available which is a plus :) Wish we could stay longer :)

First of all, everything is just fine. But above all very grateful for Celeste's help! We had a problem with the rental car tire and she really took all the time and effort to help us. Also super sweet for the children. Only praise!

There was something up with the plumbing, really loud noise in the room whenever someone above either flushed the toilet or ran the shower. Loud noise from trucks in the morning - might have been the garbage trucks. Only stayed one night so wasn’t a massive issue but wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer.

Location, and parking was free due to off season discount.

The refrigerator did not work in our room. When reported, they offered to store our food in their fridge in the office since maintenance was not available. We were not offered a different room since the only rooms available were for more people. We were also not offered any sort of discount for the inconvenience.

Great value for the price. The room had everything one looks for in a hotel room: microwave, refrigerator, a desk, a comfortable chair, a hair dryer and even an iron, plus the private porch. I absolutely loved to be able to walk to the part and to the beach. Close to restaurants as well.

The mattress was too firm for me. The room was complete of everything we needed but a bit small, so it was a bit staffy and I had a stuffy head next day. The continental breakfast barely made it for doable.

Great location and kind manager resolved A/C issue

We had an issue with the A/C in our room on an unusually warm afternoon, and the manager was able to accommodate us into another room which was much more comfortable. The hospitality was very much appreciated as the only room she could move us to was an upgraded room that definitely would have cost more. The location can't be beat, close to food, the wharf, and the boardwalk. Thanks again HoJo!

Extremely disappointed in the quality of the room for the price.

I liked the location and the free breakfast. The room was clean.

The parking said it was free when I booked it online and then I was charged $20 for parking when I arrived. The room I was in had a large bathtub that used to be a jacuzzi tub, but the front desk told me that it no longer worked. When I got into the room I noticed that there were large holes in the tub where the jets used to be. One of the overhead lights in the room did not work and it was part of the main lighting. Very old appliances. The restroom door did not lock.

Could have been better.

The cleaning staff were very nice and accommodating. The front desk staff was friendly. Rooms were just OK for the price.

The area is not very clean, and parking is not configured well for the number of guests who stay there. Also, our car got broken into and ransacked. Came into the car to leave and the center console was opened, glove compartment gone through, some snacks taken along with change. We won't stay there again. Loud people on all sides sounded like we were in the room with them.

New flooring!!! The old carpet needed to go. Location to beach, and it's nice to be able to park there before the room is ready. The manager is always friendly. Breakfast is super simple, but it's nice to have.

Beds are too hard. Bathrooms need to be remodeled and rooms still need updating- mirrors, picture frame, lamps, etc. Soap dispenser in bathroom in weird position for washing hands and soap was not great quality.

The rooms were so small. We purchased a room with a view of the ocean and there was no view of the ocean just the parking lot.
