I loved everything about the property. Would stay there again, every time.
The TV’s were hard to manoeuvre around.

Fun atmosphere and decor, great facilities (pool, hot tub, sauna, water slide, pool table and record turntable in a recreation room). Awesome staff. Right across from the mall and amenities. Great breakfast/brunch restaurant on site. Walking distance from downtown. Games in the room.
I miss regular cable. Had to use my Netflix.

Our new favourite pet friendly hotel in Victoria. Super cute, funky, very clean with a fantastic restaurant attached to the lobby.
Ya an old three storey renovated motel so the soundproofing is not the best, but once asleep the lovely dark room was quiet.

We loved our stay here. We travelled with my family for the night to visit butchart gardens and there were 6 adults and 6 children. The kids loved the pool and the set up was great for them. The rooms were so great with the design and had everything we needed. I really enjoyed the French press coffee in the morning. We ordered pizza and had a pizza party in grandmas basement for dinner and that was great. And we had an awesome breakfast at rubys the next morning. We would definitely come back.

I lived the French press coffee. I was worried about the road noise being loud while trying to sleep. But I had the best restful sleep! I really liked that I could park right in front of my room also! No long walks to unload car after a long day
Nothing! It was great

The character of the place was fun and unique. Most hotels are boring and generic. Hotel Zed put a smile on our faces.
The lack of an elevator, only because I'm not very able bodied.

What a sweet, retro, classically cool spot! The cafe is amazing as well! Love the decor, the vibe, the welcoming thoughtfulness. We will defintely be back! Especially since we didn’t make time to check out ‘grandma’s basement’ with the pool table!
Cant think of anything. We loved it!

Great location. We didn’t hear any street noise when it was time to sleep. The decor was incredibly fun and brought back lots of memories from the 70’s! Had a nice relaxing bath before crawling into the wonderful bed. I cannot express how comfortable the beds were, we just didn’t want to get up in the morning. They were SO AMAZING!!! The A/C was good, we used just the fan all night. Staff was friendly and helpful. In the morning, I walked next door and grabbed Starbucks. There was coffee and breakfast at the hotel which we didn’t use.
Everything exceeded our expectations.

The room was great, comfortable and clean, the staff was wonderful and the restaurant close to the lobby amazing, really recommend it. (The Ruby) very convenient. The location is great if you depend on transit.
Not much to complaint. It was noisy at times because of other guests with kids but nothing that would bother me much.

Very cute place, spacious suite, very comfortable beds, excellent decor. Very very clean as well!
Excellent pool (it goes very deep to 9ft for some reason, so careful with the kids) and waterslide was still open in October. Nice outdoor hot tub, and there are garage doors that open the area up in the summer. The extra rooms like Grandma's basement was very cool - great for groups to hang out. Quick drive to downtown, and across from a mall, coffee shops nearby.
There is an ambulance depot nearby, so those in the front room heard that a lot at night. Wish we knew the only access to the pool was outside - was chilly without robes.
Could have used coffee, tea in the room.

Fabulous hotel for families. Family room with separate bedroom, kitchen and sofa/dining space. Great restaurant facilities on site - and the pool with the slide was an absolute winner for the kids. They also enjoyed the 'grandma's room' with games. Decor was fun. Easy to get to town by bus (about 10 mins) from practically outside property. About 15 min walk to big supermarket and shops.
Nothing really! Its not pretty from the outside - a motel style hotel - out of town.

I really enjoyed the design and the restaurant. Cosy and comfortable room.
The kids sure loved the zedinator.

Retro chic! Loved the pool and the hot tub. Pity the sauna wasn’t operating.
A little on the expensive side and quite a walk to city centre. There are buses though.

Fun, clean and unique. Very comfortable.
Less desirable area surrounding, but really not that bad.

The kids loved the swimming pool and waterslide. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Helping move our room for the second night. Fresh ground coffee given to us each day including decaff.
The road noise is really bad at the front of the hotel, cars and motorbikes accelerating from the lights and emergency services sirens throughout the night. Asked to move rooms to back but full the first night. Did move us for the second night. Room plugs went off when tried to use kettle and microwave at the same time, was told it tripped due to being and old building. Staff were helpful in getting it back on quickly.

Nice relaxed vibe. The zedinator water slide is fun. Good sauna. Amazing bed - huge, comfy.
It's right on the side of a busy, dusty highway but not too far from town. We didn't have a car so walked back and forth which was ok but it's not a pleasant route. There are plrnty of buses and it's right by a stop so that's all fine.
We had a fridge and kettle and microwave in our room which was good but no crockery or cutlery so that didn't quite work. Really good coffee which you could get every day for free but you had to ask at reception.

So cute. A trip down memory lane with the decor. Grandma 's basement was the best. The beds were very comfortable. The cleaning was great. It was quiet. We also enjoyed the pool area and hot tub. All in all a unique experience to write home about and a comfortable convenient stay for us near our friends while in Victoria.
We enjoyed the Ruby for breakfast. But often we were coming back in the evening after a long day sightseeing and looking for a snack. We didn't see any vending machines and nothing was open for a glass of wine or food. There is a KFC right in the parking lot but a hotel bar would be awesome.

The ambience and facilities were incredible!! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the pool area, back yard space, boardgames and checked out the grandmas basement. It was a real era trip but so homey! Truly an incredible experience that you should not miss!
Nothing to complain about! Great!!

I like the theme, comfort level-bonus to French press coffee in the room. Although I didn’t get to use it, The firepit was a nice touch. The games room sounded fun. The rooms were not retro dirty they were retro clean.
There was noise from other guests and I couldn’t get ahold of the front desk to complain. The phone had no numbers beside it (ie 0 for front desk). The side parking lot was a bit of a disaster.

+ Love the 70-ties format, great use of materials, eye for detail.
+ swimming pool and tube were great for the children
+ free bikes to use, great bicycle lane nearby towards cite center
+ family room with small kitchen, extra bedroom and big smart TV’s
+ in real life better then on the pictures!!!

The lobby and room vibe feels different than how it looks from the outside. The receptionist was so kind and accommodate us right away. We were allowed to extend for an hour as we woke up late and we need to prepare the babies. Bed was so comfy. Babies fell asleep uninterrupted. The shampoo, soap and conditioner were organic and smells good! The French press was also great! The parking is in front of our room too that’s a plus! I heard there’s a pool and sauna but we did not get the chance to see it.
None.
