The Pohaku Studio is a small private studio in The Koi House by Vera Hawaii, an expansive home with multiple rentals, thoughtfully designed with eco-minded touches throughout. The hosts live in the main part of the house above the studio. You have your own private entrance.
The entire unit is intentionally designed to incorporate natural elements such as stone, crystal, petrified wood to create an authentic earthy vibe.The Pohaku Studio features a Queen-sized bed, kitchenette with custom concrete countertop, built-in seating area with a lava stone table, a bathroom with mango wood accents, stone sink and custom tiled walk-in shower.
The kitchenette comes fully equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, induction stove, french press coffee maker, utensils and cookware. Your private lanai offers a tranquil spot to savor your morning coffee. Guests also have access to the grill just outside the suite.
Enjoy a casual and friendly vibe at The Koi House when you hang out by the pool to indulge in some reading, catch some sun and take a refreshing dip. In the evenings, grill up some dinner under the pool string lights.
To make your stay comfortable, The Pohaku Studio is well stocked with amenities like deluxe toiletries, Turkish beach towels, cooler basket, clothes steamer and iron, yoga gear, reef safe sunscreen, insect repellent and more. With a complimentary set of body boards, beach and snorkel gear, The Pohaku St has everything you need for your relaxing Hawaiian retreat.

Guests will have access to the entire apartment with a private entrance, as well as the shared pool area.

Our neighborhood strikes a perfect balance, offering a central location to Kona town while maintaining a quiet and suburban atmosphere. Nestled on the edge of a nature reserve, our house provides a rural and private feel.
Our location gives you quick access to the highway, putting you in town within 10 minutes where you will find shopping, restaurants, and activities. You will also find yourself near Ali'i Dr. along the ocean, with famous Magic Sands and Kahaluu Beach Park just a short drive away. Also, there are numerous snorkeling spots down south easily accessible from our location.
The Koi House is centrally located making it easy to access many destinations in Kona. The best parts of the Big Island are only accessible via car, so we recommend renting one for your visit. We are 25 minutes from the Kona International Airport, 10 minutes from grocery stores, and 5 minutes from Magic Sands Beach.
Please note, the apartment does not have air conditioning. The Pohaku Studio is equipped with 2 fans, as well as multiple window fans. Please keep this in mind when booking, as we know it is important to some travelers.
Washer/dryer use is available for $5 per load. Please inquire with the host.
The Koi House has a friendly vibe and you may cross paths with other guests in common parking and pool areas.
Guests will have to walk down a flight of stairs from the parking area down to the unit.
