About this apartment rental
Hosted by Le, Brian & Trung, this 45m² apt recreates the warm home of a Hanoi intellectual family in the late 19th century, preserving cultural values amid colonial times.
The space features 2 double beds, 1 bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen & dining area, a comfortable workspace & cozy seating area.
Filled with natural light from windows overlooking the street, the space is decorated with traditional folk paintings.
The space
Located on the 3rd floor of a charming old building in the very heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, this apartment offers an authentic glimpse into local daily life.
It’s a small adventure - and part of what makes staying here truly Hanoi.
There is no elevator, so the stairs provide a light workout, but the reward is well worth it: a bright apartment filled with natural sunlight and an open street view - a rare luxury in the busy and compact Old Quarter.
Step outside and you’ll be surrounded by the city’s best restaurants, traditional food spots, specialty shops, cafés, and lively streets that make the Old Quarter so unforgettable.
Just around the corner is Phở Bát Đàn, one of Hanoi’s most iconic and long-standing pho restaurants, widely loved by locals for its rich beef broth and traditional flavor.
Beer Street (Tạ Hiện), Train Street, and Hoan Kiem Lake are all within easy walking distance, making this home a perfect base to explore Hanoi on foot.
The entrance to the apartment is discreetly tucked between a small street-side café, leading to a staircase that feels uniquely Old Quarter - hidden, quiet, and full of character.
If you are used to wide hotel lobbies and bright, polished entrances, this will be a different and memorable experience, offering a closer connection to Hanoi’s local life and culture.
Guest access
You’ll have full, private access to the entire apartment. The apartment is an open, airy, and spacious space filled with natural light.
Warmth and comfort are our top priorities, so the home is fully furnished with almost everything you may need for your stay - from cooking essentials, tableware, bathroom amenities, towels, and toiletries to an iron and daily necessities.
The bed features a soft and comfortable mattress, with cozy bedding designed to help you fully relax after a long day exploring the city.
A dedicated work corner with high-speed Wi-Fi allows you to stay connected, whether you’re working remotely or keeping in touch with loved ones around the world. I truly understand how important connection is during long journeys.
We have a preserved set of vintage hardwood furniture, left behind by the former owner. Unlike modern sofas, it carries a sense of dignity and character - a quiet reflection of old Hanoi’s spirit.
The artworks displayed throughout the home are inspired by traditional Vietnamese folk paintings. Two pieces reinterpret the rare Hàng Trống style, once popular in Hanoi’s old streets, featuring the Five Tigers - symbols of balance, protection, and harmony - and the Green Tiger, representing growth and new beginnings.
The remaining artworks are inspired by Đông Hồ folk paintings, a countryside tradition known for its gentle colors and storytelling spirit. Together, these pieces bring layers of history, symbolism, and cultural warmth into a modern living space.
If you want to know more about the story of folk paintings, just tell me ^^
Other things to note
Most essential items and amenities are already provided in the apartment.
If you need anything extra, just let me know — I’ll do my best to help. (There may be a small additional charge if you request something special or out of the ordinary).
