Chalet Adlerhorst am Großglockner

I haven't had such mixed feelings in a long time. So I'll start with what was amazing and if it weren't for the negatives listed below, the accommodation would be 10/10. The cottage is in a beautiful location and the view is breathtaking. It is very spacious and could really accommodate up to 10 people, we were 8. The equipment is, given that it is described as a chalet, exceeding expectations. The kitchen has everything you could need. There is only one bathroom, but it is still a chalet. The mattresses on the beds are quite comfortable. Lots of storage space. The cottage is certainly very old (but after reconstruction) and evokes a pleasant sentiment.

Booking.com sent me a code to the locker where the key was, so we got in. I also got a description of where and how to park - it's not exactly easy. However, the host didn't communicate with us in any way or respond to messages. The problem was that the beds weren't made, the sheets were still on from previous guests, and there were dry bread crumbs in one bed. It was as if the previous guests had left and then no one had done anything about it. I would have understood if we had been given instructions that we needed to have our own sleeping bags or where the new sheets were and instructions like change it yourself. But nothing. In the end, we found new sheets somewhere under the stairs and changed the beds ourselves. We also reported the situation to the number under the "contact" heading, but it was to Booking, which probably also tried unsuccessfully to contact the host. Despite the above, the overall impression was not bad, I believe that the host simply encountered a life situation in which communication with guests was secondary. Two more details - to get to the accommodation you have to climb wooden, partially dilapidated stairs through the forest about 100 meters per section and 35 meters in height, so this is not accommodation for the disabled. I recommend marking the parking options in the village directly on the map, there is only one parking space for the accommodation under the stairs (8-10 people probably won't come in just one car).
