Spacious 2BR 1Bath with Free Street Parking & Close to Roath Park Landmark

We stayed at the flat for one night. The neighbourhood was nice, peaceful, and had plenty of parking spaces available. The houses around the area looked very nice and well maintained. Check-in was easy thanks to the self check-in key box. Inside the flat, the furniture in the living areas and bedrooms was modern and beautiful, and the beds and sofas were very comfortable. The TVs were new and worked well too. The kitchen, however, looked more dated in comparison. We also noticed that two handles were broken. Bedding and towels seemed clean.

However, the building itself gave a slightly abandoned feeling. The outside area was overgrown with grass, and the communal hallways were dirty. When we entered the flat, there was a noticeable smell of cigarettes. Cleanliness could definitely be improved. The hallway floor inside the flat had stains that looked like dirty water marks, the windows and mirrors were dirty, and there were spider webs on the walls. The air fresheners provided were empty, so replacing those would help improve the first impression. It would also be a nice touch to leave a few coffee capsules (for example, 4 capsules) for guests to use on their first morning. One thing to note is that guests are required to either pay a £200 deposit via bank transfer or purchase a £34.90 non-refundable insurance waiver. As the flat had no previous reviews, we felt more comfortable choosing the insurance option instead of transferring the deposit. Won’t book again, to be honest.
