About this cottage rental
Nēnē Cottage is a one bedroom one bathroom cottage.
You can enjoy the sights of this small farm from the deck. We have added a bbq to the back as well.
Listen to 'io, Hawaiian hawks, as they soar overhead. This is very rare and amazing to see. We have wild pheasants, turkey and pigs that roam about. We also have sheep, chickens, a goat and a cow.
You are welcome to collect eggs to cook and enjoy.
Explore along our old Hawaiian walls and try to spot Jackson chameleons. Walk through O'hia trees and Hapu'u ferns. In the back of our property you can explore a trail that takes you through a bamboo forest.
We are only 3 minutes to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. 35 minutes from Punalu’u beach (black sand) where sea turtles relax on the beach. 40 minutes to Hilo and its wonderful downtown shops and restaurants.
Volcano village has amazing restaurants and a small amount of shops.

We had a wonderful stay at Nene Cottage. Julie and her family were very warm, friendly and welcoming. The cottage is in a beautiful spot - just on the edge of volcano village, with a beautiful garden. It’s really close to volcano NP, about 5 minutes from the entrance. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The king bed is comfortable and access to the hot tub is an added bonus. We loved being greeted by their puppies and kittens, and the free range eggs from their chickens were a nice bonus. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, property, clean accommodations, and very welcoming hosts. We loved walking around the property visiting all the animals in such a gorgeous area. Looking forward to coming back soon!

The NeNe Cottage was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The host was informative while giving us our own space. It is just a short drive from Volcanoes National Park. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay with our incredible hosts on their amazing property with all their loving animals. Hot tub was just a bonus on top of an epic farm stay. Great home with super cozy bed and great patio view. Very close to the volcano park. This is a special place. We can’t wait to come back!
