Loved that it was in the ferns. Good location. Restaurants nearby.
The dehumidifier could be better. Also, maybe a heater as it was very cold at night. A hot water pot would be good.

I rented the place. But we only used it to take showers and change. There was an odd issue getting into the room. and the host simply gave me another room in seconds, to go clean up and head out. She was just fabulous. She had an amazing reaction time when I asked for help. We really did just shower and change and go to the eruption. and after spending the night in the jungle, we were happy to clean up and go back to the eruption. Our host was awesome. Did I already say that? We did not actually stay or sleep there. We were only there for an hour in the evening, and an hour the next morning. but it was fab

The location in proximity to the national park is great.
The photos of this place put it in a much better state then it actually is. It looks old, the cabinets smelled of mold. The communication from the manger was terrible. I asked for extra towels as they left me three gym towels for my family of five. I am glad we brought beach towels with us for our stay.

Could have been very good but management failed in many basic ways.
There is NO drinking water there. Says -once you arrive- there is 5 gallons but there wasn't. Management then promised to provide the next day but took a FOUR days to give just a very minimal amount. Given only a few small towels-that cannot dry in the humid climate- so problem for showering and using hot tub, especially since dehumidifier did not work and there was no a hairdryer as advertised. Kitchen did not even have teaspoons or glasses. No cleaning done nor fresh linens given for a full 12-day stay and not even a broom so you can do yourself. No top sheet on bed so question if comforter with NON-removable cover even gets cleaned between guests. Also, while they state you do not pre-pay but pay at property that is UNtrue; they charge the FULL amount immediately upon booking. Best to look elsewhere.

This could have been very nice (cute room, great location, nice hot tub) but is so poorly managed.
Most egregious is they never bother to tell renters before arrival that place has NO potable water! In-room sign says they provide 5 gallons however we arrived to find hardly any (and local shops close early and are much pricier then in Hilo). Manager promised to bring drinking water the NEXT day but did NOT do so until DAY FOUR!!! Management's false promise about bringing drinking water meant we couldn't even cook for the first few days. They gave only a single large towel for TWO people staying for 12 days! Other towels small. No bath mats. And since nothing dries in that tropical setting, the dehumidifier did not work and there was NO hairdryer as advertised, we never had dry towels (especially using both hot tub and shower). For a 12 day stay, they did not ever clean or change linens or change towels or sweep -and room has no broom to do it yourself nor were there extra linens. Single bed had NO top sheet and since comforter cover was non-removable, question if comforters even get washed between guest stays. bed uncomfortable. The studio - it's not one bedroom- also did not have any teaspoons, NO glasses (wine from plastic cups is nasty), etc. etc.
Seems management (owner) does not care about the renters' experience.

Great location, only 10 minutes from Volcano national park in a quiet serene setting in the jungle.
We were looking forward to get in the hottub, but it was so dirty that we decided against getting in.
The coffee machine had coffee all over it and has clearly not been cleaned. We booked the place for 4 people but only had two towels and since we arrived late and left early we were not really able to ask for any extra towels.
Only 2 mugs and 2 glasses provided as well. For the price they really need to make sure at least the basics are met.

Located close enough to volcano national park . Loved the natural environment.
Hot tub needed attention . Queen bed was hard and lumpy for my body.

Hot tub was much appreciated at the end of an adventure filled day, basic kitchenette for our needs, close to park, provided drinking water/ toaster oven, single burner, free parking.
De-humidifier in the room didn’t have a cord. No AC (wasn’t needed) but the small space heater worked wonders at night.

Wouldn't have stayed here if I knew what I know now. If you are only going to the volcano/staying a day might be a good for you. If you are coming to see the big island/stay longer I would suggest to keep looking. The main beach is over 2.5 hours away other is 1.5 hours away (w/o traffic. You have to travel to purchase/eat anything. Host was contacted for paper towels and coffee day2, was combative on the phone (put out?) said would bring some in the end, never did. So we bought them some. Can't fly home with it so you're welcome. Bought a few other needed items. They are on the property with you (I think) so didn't call to try again(didn't want conflict and make the best of our trip). Spiders/webs cover exterior, mold in corners, bugs&roches in unit, dehumidifier on 24/7 (plugged into only plug with constant power) &couldn't keep up, too small for space, electricity is finicky not consistant, one pillow each person (flat and small),
one pillow each person (flat and small), one towel, cup, cutlery, hanger, etc. Per person, no way to wash/dry anything used, nothing provided fresh 1/2 through stay, furnished w/partially broken stuff, things kind of work, poor wifi (had to use mobile), small TV, dead remote, hottube falling apart so you get flakes of stuff all over while in it, walk there is block by parked cars, the corner widows are nice if you could see out of them. Covered in humidity inside/buildup and makes a water puddle in corner, table only seats 3. Unit wasn't cleaned well. No fans of any kind, no blow dryer, needs broom (sand)& fly swatter. You can't drink the water from tap & no water tower or system to drink from. Plan accordingly (makes things harder). Someone lived in their van in one of the parking spaces during our stay.
This place left a lot to be desired and the host was not very host-ish. (Don't take my word for it, read thier replies' to other reviews on here) If we ever get to come back again we will stay somewhere else.

Loved the being surrounded by the jungle fell. The pathway to the hot tub is gorgeous!! It’s quiet, easy parking.
The hot tub needs cleaning. And we requested a fan which we never received.
