Good option for peaceful and affordable stay when visiting Basel

Location easier to reach from the Basel bad bf station than we thought. Friendly personnel. Comfortable room with a good bed. Breakfast was excellent. Free train ticket for German trains was a nice extra.

In the weekend nights it got a bit noisy in the hallway. Some people just can’t behave in public spaces. The hotel door stays open through the night without supervision which didn’t feel very safe.

Stopover on our way home from Italy

The Staff members are friendly, the room was spacious enough for one night and most importantly, it was clean. The hotel is conveniently located for a stopover coming back home from Italy.

The room was completely tasteless. On the picture it looked good, but it was different in reality. A bunch of ok furniture pieces just randomly positioned in a room. Maybe we weren’t lucky. The walls of the room and the corridor had a lot of marks. For me the price/quality was not sufficient

Perfect place for a weekend stay in Basel

Great Location right on the Swiss border with ample parking. The staff were friendly (especially the night shift team member, who was really helpful and accommodating) and the area we were staying in was newly renovated so everything in the room was new. There was a lovely ice cream stand and cafe just outside.

It’s hard to judge because the property is in a period of transition so the breakfast room/reception are a bit drab but I’m sure that will be renovated as well. The only thing is in the room the new beds are on wheels so when you move or turn around, the bed does move so the wheels need to be locked.

Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ontbijt uitstekend! Parkeren voor de deur tegen een kleine vergoeding. Om de hoek is een tramhalte die je in 20 minuten naar Basel stad brengt.

Blij dat we hier waren.

Het ontbijtbuffet was lekker en met ruime keuze. Het onthaal zeer vriendelijk. De ligging is uitstekend voor wie het museum Fondation Beyeler wil bezoeken vlak over de grens in Zwitserland. Je kan er vanaf het hotel in 10 minuten naar toe wandelen, terwijl de auto voor het hotel kon geparkeerd worden (hoewel we na het bezoek vertrokken). De parkings van het museum liggen op een vergelijkbare afstand.

Een klein tafeltje zou de kamer verbeteren. Wij hebben nu met vier kaartspelen gedaan vanop het bed.

Le petit-déjeuner était très copieux et bon.

La propreté de la chambre était médiocre. Des cheveux dans la salle de bain dès notre arrivée. Les serviettes étaient tachées (maquillage noir) Le lit n'était pas fait correctement, draps non repassés. Le comble: le matelas ainsi que la couette avaient une odeur très forte d'urine de rat. Affreux. Les oreillers étaient dans un état lamatable. Une très mauvaise expérience en chambre. Nous nous recommandons pas cet établissement.

Katastrophe

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war eine absolute Katastrophe. In der letzten Nacht funktionierte unsere Schlüsselkarte nicht mehr, sodass wir keinen Zugang zu unserem Zimmer hatten. Kein Personal war vor Ort, niemand war telefonisch erreichbar und auch Booking.com konnte uns nicht helfen. Unser gesamtes Gepäck befand sich im Zimmer, während wir gezwungen waren, die Nacht im Auto zu verbringen. Dadurch wurde unser geplanter Urlaub vollständig ruiniert. Meine Ehefrau wurde krank, ich selbst ebenfalls, und wir mussten nach der Rückkehr mehrere Tage krank zu Hause verbringen. Trotz mehrfacher Versuche, das Hotel zu kontaktieren, gab es keinerlei Reaktion. Dieser Vorfall war nicht nur extrem enttäuschend, sondern auch gesundheitlich und psychisch sehr belastend. Ich kann dieses Hotel niemandem empfehlen. Ein derart schlechter Service und mangelnde Verantwortung sind absolut inakzeptabel.
