Good location, simple and easy stay once you work out the door locks. Comfy bed and clean.

Quite noisy when other guests enter the building.

The stairs were incredibly slippy and precarious at night in heavy rain and didn’t feel very safe

The room was great with all that we needed for a one night stay. The location is excellent, even though we were only in Southwell to go to the restaurant downstairs - which was superb, it was really close to all sites and attractions. There is a terrace outside the bedroom doors and we thought it would be lovely if there were a table and chairs to sit at in the morning. We mentioned this to the owner whilst eating downstairs and lo and behold, a table and chairs were there when we had finished our meal. How's that for service? The bed was very comfy and the room was very clean. Coffee was great and we loved the fact that there were nice biscuits as well and considering the hot weather that we had at the time the free bottle of water and the fan were a very nice touch. We did not watch tv nor use the wi-fi so cannot comment on those.

The only thing I would say, that is not a fault nor complaint, and cannot really be changed, is that if you have mobility issues or trouble walking/climbing stairs, is that there is an outside metal staircase to negotiate to access the rooms.

It was quite noisy.

The door was very stiff and hard to open and close fully. There was noise all night from neighbouring rooms. The bathroom was tiny. The balcony had an overflowing ashtray and everything smelled smoky.
