The Newport Inn

Right on the shore of the River Tay. Fantastic view. And seating outside or inside. The staff were hard working and friendly. Reasonable price for the type of hotel. Lots going on on the night we were there. Bingo, karaoke and a live band ! Seemed popular with the locals. But plenty of places to sit away from the noise and chill taking in the sunset. Overall we had a nice stay.

No food or breakfast. They did explain there was a food truck booked in the evening and it didn’t turn up. But there were good places right across the road for food and the best chip shop ever, two supermarkets, some restaurants and a very pleasant high street in country surrounds. The attic room at the top had a great view but had limited head space.

I really liked the view from the balcony, the free parking, and the overall vibe of the place.

Really big and comfortable room with nice view onto the water.

Not ideal that dinner/ breakfast is not offered but a lovely restaurant, Shoreline, is a less than 5 minute walk away and was very nice

Room was clean, spacious and bed was comfy.

There was a music playing in the event space below us until midnight. The bass reverberated up through the walls. We were hoping to get a really good night sleep as it was our one night away from our small children. No such luck. Also, they forgot the tea bags and there was only one bath robe!
