One of the better places I've stayed in and around Shotley, and I've tried a few. Being greeted by a bottle of wine was a nice touch. Excellent shower. Very comfy bed. Spotlessly clean. Clearly newly refurbished, but obvious effort put into making the place welcoming. Excellent communication, Tom was all over making sure I was happy.
Minor details, but... TV far too high on the wall. I'm not a fan of backless sofas, can't relax on them. The bathroom sink is tiny. I get that space is at a premium, but that's too small. The kitchen extractor could do with having a bit more suck. Even on full it couldn't clear frying bacon fast enough to not set the smoke alarm off. Opening the back door cleared it, but the draft wasn't idea. A cafetiere would be nice. As I said, minor stuff, didn't detract from what was a very pleasant stay.
