During my stay, I did encounter a house centipede next to the fridge. But understandable since New York is pretty humid and house centipede is harmless!

The price. Large private fridge with freezer in the room. Kitchenette on every floor.

The current rating of over 8.0 is highly misleading. In my opinion, the property deserves a maximum rating of 6.5. The building is old, and everything creaks. We could hear every single footstep, and the walls were paper-thin, allowing us to hear people talking and moving around in the neighbouring rooms. We barely slept at all. We were constantly woken up by noises that would not normally disturb our sleep, simply because there was virtually no sound insulation whatsoever. There was no proper duvet, just a polyester bedspread and a blanket. The pillows did not have cotton pillowcases either, only dark polyester covers that we found genuinely unpleasant and felt uncomfortable using. The room had no bedside lamps, just a single ceiling light. There was no TV, no elevator, and the mattress was an old-fashioned, spring-based one. Overall, the lack of basic comfort, poor sound insulation, and outdated facilities made our stay disappointing. The biggest issue was the noise, which made it practically impossible to get a decent night's sleep. The current rating gives a very misleading impression of the actual quality of the accommodation.
