The location: a 2min walk to Annupuri gondola and a few restaurants (much much nicer than eating on the slope if you get down before 1pm, the unspoken kitchen close time for most places) The food: Thom(a soft-spoken architect/owner) enjoys cooking for himself and others. During my 3 nights there every day I woke up to a warm sumptuous scrambled egg plate + fruits + yoghurt. The vibe: it truly felt like a home stay! Thom and his family(including Runa the house dog) live/work from the same building most of the time. I would be introduced to Thom’s friends who visited on the day. The common space is always sunny, warm and spacious, making it easy to join/exit/rejoin these morning/afternoon tea sessions. I was lucky to overlap with his skiing day, so he took me to the mountaintop too! The infrastructure: my room was a > 30sqm en-suite which is rare in these “pension” buildings —— almost all other hotels I checked near the gondola had shared bathrooms. The high water pressure + hot temperature in the shower booth are worth a mention too! Internet. On fast.com my wifi said 72Mbps which is more than enough for Zoom meetings. Can be spotty depending on where you sit inside the bedroom though —— ask where the WiFi is in case this was a dealbreaker. That being said the common space was always stable and FAST.

Very nice and helpful hosts, breakfast was plenty and varied, company was interesting. A bit like a hostel for boomers😁 but with your own space, which was big. Thom and Chloe were great hosts
