Modern Hawthorn Stay, New Forest Escape

The flat was very clean and spacious and newly decorated. The location was great for exploring the New Forest. Communication with the hosts was good. Checking in and out was easy.

The flat felt cheaply furnished. The mattresses were thin and not particularly comfortable. The blinds were very basic and not remotely blackout. The flat got very hot even in May. This was a concern with a baby. I'd recommend the hosts should provide fans for summer. The towels provided were very thin and ungenerous. The sofa unfortunately broke soon after our arrival (a leg didnt seem to be connected properly). The hosts were very apologetic about this and had we stayed longer I think they would have sorted it during our stay. A shame as the bones of the flat are nice.

They charge a £100 cleaning fee and also ask you to leave the flat so it's ready for the next guest. Check out is 10am. This is not a business let, it's a holiday one. 11am is what everyone expects. I would recommend they change this to suit the guests not the cleaners.

Very clean, well stocked with cleaning supplies etc. Loved opening the curtains when we got up and seeing the Alpacas outside. Arrived on 26 December and appreciated the Christmas tree in the sitting room! Great base for visiting Paultons park which is less than ten mins away.

We arrived late at night - the turn off the main road to get into where the apt is isn’t lit up so you can easily miss it.
