Clubhouse, North End, Bedale DL8 1AB

It was perfectly located for our purposes (a visit to a nearby restaurant). The apartment was well equipped and nicely decorated.

We struggled to set up the sofa bed (and completely failed to re-instate it in the morning!) The duvet was very heavy and hot.

Lovely bath, so good for my back after a journey Close to shops and bus stop Nice airy rooms and nicely furnished, very comfortable and light, lots of space Nice to have a proper dining table to eat at Brontë brought me fans to help with the heat, that was very much appreciated

Very noisy people upstairs on the second night. For nearly 2 hours there was a yelping dog, people moving noisily about and at one stage people running up and down the stairs shouting at each other Couldn’t find terrestrial TV and didn’t want to put my own app logins into essentially a public device, so could only watch iPlayer. Other places I’ve stayed in Bedale have set up the TV so you can just switch on and watch the apps. Couldn’t get towel rail to switch on but assume it works when the heating is on Cafe downstairs was short staffed so not doing breakfast. I went out to buy a breakfast sandwich and came back to buy a coffee but I wasn’t allowed to eat my sandwhich inside with the coffee, even though there was no breakfast being sold, so I had to have a takeout coffee. I didn’t bother going back

Very friendly and helpful host. Immaculate apartment in a perfect location.

Location great for what we wanted to do; rooms all ok size; bathroom good and great shower. Nice and light and not too noisy despite being on the main through road.

Lack of kitchen equipment, even for a one night stop where we just wanted to make breakfast it was a bit basic ( eg no cafetière and we could only find one small sort of sharp knife) and we’d have struggled if we wanted to cook dinner. No dishwasher tablets even though instructions said to put all dishes in there. Maybe we weren’t meant to turn it on perhaps?
