Midway between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, this beautifully converted property makes a lovely base for visitors to North Yorkshire. Conveniently located near the market towns of Bedale and Richmond, and surrounded by natural wonders and historic sites, this two-bedroom cottage sleeps four guests and two canine companions. Set on a small complex of holiday homes near Crakehall, it can be booked with one or more of the other properties to accommodate larger groups.

Featuring high ceilings, large windows and a light colour scheme, this single-storey property feels light and airy throughout. It’s been lovingly designed with sustainable heating keeping toes toasty beneath flagstone floors, and high-quality fixtures and furnishings. The heart of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This sociable space features a smart corner kitchen with warm wooden cabinets, a dining table seating four, and a welcoming lounge with a wood burner and a Smart TV. When it’s time to rest your head, make your way along the corridor to find two beautifully appointed bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, both with patio doors leading to the courtyard. They share use of a wet room, while outside there’s an open courtyard with a picnic table for al fresco meals and drinks. The small village of Crakehall (1 mile), reputed to be one of the prettiest in the Lower Dales, has all the basics at your fingertips along with a picturesque village green. There’s more to explore in the vibrant market towns of Bedale (3 miles) and Richmond (10.5 miles), which feature a wealth of shops and eateries along with cultural and historic attractions including Richmond Castle.
