Wigan Oak Hotel

Staff unhelpful from booking in until we left. Room was dusty and only one plug socket. View of the delivery area wasn't very interesting and the yard is very unkept. We were not told where the breakfast area was or where the food was served from. The bar was left unattended so I went to the pub across the road. All the staff seemed to be interested in was where they were going and what time they got in. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and this is by far the worst. We won't be going back.

The room had a bed and en suite. Facilities basic.

Nothing too much bother. Friendly team clean room. Loads of free parking all good

Everything was fine. The hotel is a bit dated and could do with updating.

One of the towels had brown stuff on it. Crack in the ceiling in the left corner where the shower was. "Double bed" was two single beds and room was slightly clean. I'd have gotten stuff changed if we were there more than one night.

It was a very nice room the beds were very comfortable the rooms were very warm

A very tired hotel in desperate need of decoration and updating

Stay here frequently when visiting family

Noise level high , mess in coriander , could hear next door both sides going to the toilet functions early hours morning doors banging while trying to sleep

This hotel was clean and comfortable enough, but very tired looking. The rooms were spacious. The breakfast was appalling. The crockery was all dirty - with that sheen that comes from a badly cleaned dishwasher filter being actually visible on every plate, bowl and cup. The cooked part of the breakfast was all cold and congealed. And the staff seemed disinterested. A most unpleasant experience.

The hotel was very disappointing, it smelt of cigarettes throughout including the rooms. The reception area was shabby. the bar are look like it hadn’t seen a cloth in forever. The mattress had so little spring it felt like I was going to fall out of the bed. All in all not good.

Clean great reception staff and breakfast ideal for parking which is free too

The stay was Fabulous, quiet and welcoming. Friendly staff and a very clean room. I would definitely recommend it anyone.

Location to town centre bar prices reasonable quietness of hotel could do with decor upgraded sky television new carpets through out

Staff were really friendly but the room and bathroom need a lot more cleaning. It also smelled of smoking.

The water temperature control for the bath was stiff. Had to get the staff twice to have a look and was even told would have to get maintenance to loo at it. Was not offered a room move or any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. Very stressful when getting ready for my brothers wedding reception

My bed mattress was probably the worst I have slept on in all the years of using hotels! Sadly, being a lower back sufferer, the discomfort was exacerbated meaning little or no sleep. This apart, we are quite satisfied with the services provided within the hotel and the staff. We would have liked to dined before the theatre but late service cut into our time schedule. No matter, we will dine tonight. Not complaining, but we found the bar area rather noisy due to a wedding reception, but we would not deny wedding guests the right to Celebrate. Our first ever visit to Wigan! Would use this hotel again if ever we came again.

Room and shower were spacious,clean and well equipped and breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from,free parking an added bonus,very good value for money,would be using again

Very centrally located. Only one elctrical outlet in room. Staff did everything they could to make a pleasant stay
