Fantastic service at breakfast with buffet style and hot food service whenever we were ready. Great communications.

Price and location worked for me, good beds, good wifi, shower and a good pub across the road. Good bteakfast.

Not recommended! At any price!

Bed linen and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Hotel wifi v quick.

No-one at desk on arrival or checkout next morning. Communal areas / hallways were filthy, unvacuummed and smelled of damp. Buzzing noise in my room all night. Key card for room access repeatedly failed. Breakfast wasn't fit for consumption, went elsewhere. Whole place was weirdly deserted and felt like it was on the verge of closure. In a dark, squalid area that was scary to approach on foot at night.

Decent place for a short stay.

For the price it was a great stay, the rooms are decent and the staff went out of their way to help us.

Common areas are abit run down, there was a smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. The room however was very pleasant and clean.

Our room was newly refurbished and it was lovely done to a high standard, all the staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they were so sweet to our little dog

The communal areas were very tired, but I'm sure they will be brought up to the same standard as the new rooms in time. Unfortunately as the main bar and restaurant area were so large it was very cold

was expensive for what it was needs more clear signs

breakfast time was short and ended to early for our holiday stay we fly from Spain to see our son but felt that we had to get up and out for breakfast way to early also when we arrived it the hotel was not clearly signed and we was horrified to arrive at the pub in front to see broken window and thought we were staying there until staff told us hotel was round back the whole hotal needs to mbe bought up to date few sockets in room carpets sticky old broken socket on wall

Staff great , bit more thought on room heating & noise level late at night

Location

Too much noise late at night ! Staff should judge the age of guests & do a walk round during the night ! Was Kept awake at 2am after a long flight by people talking loudly in the corridor . Had to ask how to switch on the room heater !!!!! If the room is booked for occupancy the heater should already be on especially on a day/night as cold as it was

The staff were great, but the hotel needs TLC

The bed was very comfortable, but some may need a ladder to get in. The staff were exceptional in evert respect. The hotel in general needs a good facelift.

Location was ok and the staff was friendly.

Very dated. Needs a total refurbishment. Room was cold the first day but warmed up a little the 2nd day.

Good staff and they are very helpfull. Good value

The Oak has only just reopened after a time closed . During that time they have upgraded rooms and to be fair they are very comfortable despite the beds being too high. Overall I felt that the place was clean, the public areas need refurbishment and the breakfast was excellent ( not buffet style) I believe because of low occupancy as it has just reopened but I would expect when they are fully running a buffet breakfast will be included. Overall the staff were very polite and helpful
