The room was lovely and very clean, exactly as shown in the photos. It was as advertised – a room on the top floor of a new‑build property with a homestay feeling.
The location was convenient for getting into Dublin and for reaching the ferry port quickly.
The host was very helpful and didn't mind that we were running late, welcoming us warmly.
The room was advertised as including a private bathroom; however, this was incorrect, as the bathroom was located one floor below the room.
The listing also stated that an electric kettle was provided, which was not the case.
The room was also very cold as the radiator wasn't on.
All wardrobes had locks on the doors, which made the stay somewhat uncomfortable, while the room door itself did not have a lock. For this reason, I would not recommend the room for a longer stay, as it could not be securely locked during the day or at night.
The most annoying issue was the loud noise coming from the boiler room located in the left corner of the room. Every time someone in the house used the toilet and water, there was a very loud noise followed by a high‑pitched whistling sound. Although the house and room are located in a quiet residential area, the internal noise meant that we were unable to sleep at all, which was far from ideal, as the noise came on constantly during the night.
Additionally, artificial reed diffusers were placed in the entrance hall and inside the room. As I am quite sensitive to strong scents, I had to move them outside. Hosts should be mindful that such items can cause adverse reactions for some guests.

We had an amazing stay for St Paddy’s weekend - the hosts are really kind and helpful (+communication was a 10/10), the room is very clean and spacious, the bathroom likewise. Dunshaughlin is well connected to Dublin by bus, so if you are willing to explore the capital city without having a driver’s license that won’t be a problem.

The host was very nice and gave quick answers to questions. The room was clean and cozy and quite spacious. The host provided towels and soap for us to use. We also could use the kitchen for tea or the fridge and microwave, if we needed , we were also allowed to eat our takeway in the room, which we really enjoyed. It also was great that there is a hair dryer in the room. The bed was very comfortable.
There is acutally nothing that we really didnt like.
There are just two things, which i think were a bit inconvenient, there is no trashcan in the bathroom and no handtowel, the first time i forgot to bring my provided towel from the room which is on floor above. But that are just small things, all in all it was a pleasant stay.
