1945 was better than it is represented by the photos and descriptions given. It has been repainted, everything is spotless and well-maintained. Crisp white linen and towels. No pool was mentioned, but every property has its own private irrigation dam which was crystal clear and sparking (if chilly!). The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and all their properties at Matkiesvlei are well-considered and tastefully appointed. There was also a 2Mbit connection, which we didn't use but would be ample for most internet connectivity.
It wasn't apparent that the properties are under the same ownership/management, so we worried unnecessarily about which one we were booking and whether it had the same/different facilities - particularly a pool within sight of the house for the children to play in. Linking the properties under a portfolio may stop others from worrying as we did.

Absolutely amazing place and in such a beautiful setting. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We could have stayed longer if we didn’t have to get back!
The only concern was it is not near where the app and maps say the destination is. When it tells you that you have arrived, you still have quite a long gravel road to travel (which was ok as we were in a higher vehicle) and it is very windy and on the edge of steep mountain sides.

The location was exceptional! The views astounding and we had our one private 'plaasdam'.
