1 Top Locks Cottage

The location is fabulous, walks on the doorstep, good pubs in all directions. The cottage is so cute, clean and very comfy. The kitchen is really well equipped and a lovely social space. The lounge is great and well presented with seating and a large TV. The bedrooms are so comfy and the bathroom spacious and modern. The outdoor space is lovely, lots of wild flowers and very peaceful. There is a table and patio set on a decked area to enjoy.

Super minor things but a couple of the cups were broken and one of the plug sockets in the kitchen was really wobbling and could do with a bit of love.

The cottage is beautiful, tastefully decorated, has everything you could need and is in a beautiful location

Not sure if user error but we couldn’t get the shower to run hot, would also suggest there is a sign or a Number 1 put on the gate as it took us a while to figure out how to get in 🤣

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

It was absolutely freezing when we arrived and we were told where to turn the radiator and heating on. We couldn’t get the house warm enough for a few hours- it was really bitterly cold. Would expect someone to have been in and put the radiators on just before we arrived.

Pretty cottage in a picturesque spot.

In one room was a metal frame bed that creaked and rocked when you touched it. So we chose the other (wooden) bed. My husband fell asleep but I must have turned over and the bed made a big noise. It was pitch black and I didn't want to wake my husband but I realised I was lying on a slope with my head lower than my feet. In the morning we could see the bed slats on my side had all collapsed so my side of the mattress was on the floor at the top end. I didn't get any sleep. This isn't good enough. The slats could have easily been secured. And to have two beds that aren't fit for purpose isn't acceptable. It is a shame as otherwise the cottage would have got much higher marks. Also there is no parking. When I asked I was told we could park in the pub car park but this was a bit naughty. Some people would also find having to walk from there along the towpath a problem. And the directions to find the cottage weren't good.
