Beautiful location on the canal Stylishly decorated Milk in fridge and coffee and tea available Excellent shower

There were just a few wee details that felt overlooked. The garden area was a bit neglected and the chairs weren't clean so we couldn't sit outside. In the bathroom there was no soap in the dispenser. We were a group of 5 so using the sofa bed and we had to hunt for sheets and duvets to make up the bed. The sofa bed itself wasn't very comfortable - perhaps there were some instructions on pulling it out further but we missed these!

The location is peaceful and relaxing for a holiday.

There was no free parking as described and the property was quite difficult to find by road. Clearer instructions would help. There was a shortage of cutlery.

Lovely location by the canal at Top Locks. Very handy for The Ship Inn which is a great pub with lovely food and atmosphere. The cottage is nicely decorated and well equipped. The garden is small but completely enclosed which was great for the dogs, and plenty of nice walks along the canal straight from the cottage.

The parking at the pub is some distance from the cottage and involves some irregular stone steps behind the pub. If you have a lot of gear to bring to the property it is not very convenient. We parked on the opposite side of the canal to load at the end of our stay but there is little space to turn around and the neighbours had some comments about us being there even though it was obvious that we were packing to leave. The shower did not work properly and although the owner gave us a method to correct it, this took time and had to be done every time we used the shower due to a malfunctioning pump. The owner was very responsive to messages though.
