Great overnight stay

Having stayed here before on several occasions we were pleased when we found out that some of the accommodation was open again. Abergavenny and the surrounding area had sadly experienced some bad flooding the day before and we weren’t sure if would be able to stay with our little Grandaughter. The owners worked hard to ensure the car park was cleared of water so that we could enjoy our stay, thank you. We are looking forward to when the whole establishment is open. The hotel is within walking distance of the town or you can easily drive and park in one of the many car parks. We had a very nice meal in the hotel’s sister hotel in Abergavenny town and we were lucky enough to watch the Christmas lights being switched on

Well located and quiet.

We were in one of the apartments away from the main hotel. All was comfortable and clean. A 15 minute walk into town but reasonably flat so not a challenge. Just a nice convenient location. Very quiet indeed.

The bathroom felt a little sparse and in need of a bit of love but I imagine that is on the list as the main hotel is being renovated now.

Great place to explore Brecon Beacons

Amazing stay, you can find all you need there. Check in is smooth, communication is easy and there is a large parking area. Perfect base to explore Brecon Beacons!

Really enjoyed Abergafenni with friendly people and food in parent hotel and great food.

Building work on the main building was halted for the weekend stay but our room in the new stable block was excellent, quiet location off main road and 15 mins walk to town centre.

No basin soap, no bin in bathroom, soap dispenser too high up for using bath.

One night stay

1 night stay as we came to visit friends and few miles down the road. The hotel was undergoing work so difficult to fully comment. The room was ok and it was self check out leaving the key in the key safe. Didn't meet any member of staff so unable to comment. It was a quiet stay but again only a few rooms open due to work being carried out. I did think the price for room only was a little over priced under the circumstances.

Unable to park near our room due to scaffolding blocking access. I think this should have been mentioned when booking

The rooms clean and new

The hotel was closed for refurbishment and we weren’t told about this when booking. So there were no facilities and no staff available for enquiries, just a phone number. There was a room above, and early in the morning someone was walking around in that room, there is no sound proofing and it felt they were going to fall through the ceiling. Very noisy and unsettling as there was no one on sight.

Not good , I thought it was going to be something outstanding for the high price tag but instead we got a half functiona

Couldn’t park the car anywhere near the room as there was a scaffold in the way The plug wasn’t connected to the knob so couldn’t empty the bath There was only one sachet of coffee The carpet felt slightly damp in areas The place is basically a building site and should not be trying to host guests until the work is finished Also it was top money more than I paid in any other hotel during our trip around wales . I will be requiring a substantial refund

A great room only arrangement

Very nice, large, well fitted room. Extremely quiet location

As made clear by the owner, the rooms are in a lovely stable block ..separate from a main building that is closed and under refurbishment. So there were no attendant facilities such as breakfast, dinner, bar or check in. So it was a room only contract..a bit expensive for just that…but very comfortable.

Horrible

The location is fine, the building is beautiful

No staff at all, only scaffolding. Room was painted, the smell was over powering. Paint on the bathroom floor, no plug in the basin, gaps on the side of the entry door. Had to park far from the room due to scaffolding. A 10%discount voucher was offered for some restaurant for there is no restaurant on the premises. Unfortunately I could not understand at which restaurant this was offered in. This hotel is surely NOT 5 star nor is it worth £127!!!! I would love to have some of my money refunded please!!!!
