About this house rental
The starting point for hiking, biking, and motorcycle tours couldn’t be more ideal. To reach the forest, simply cross a field. Beyond it, you’ll find a network of hiking trails that wind along streams and through gorges, leading directly to Cochem, Calmont, the Calmont via ferrata, or many other picturesque spots along the Moselle. Numerous other attractive hiking trails in the Eifel and along the Moselle, as well as a wide variety of interesting destinations of all kinds, beckon (the Eifel Dream Loops, the Moselle Trail, and the Eifel Trail are not far away). Furthermore, there are farms nearby (with animals such as goats and horses) that entertain their guests (especially families) with guided tours and other tourist attractions. A visit to an underground tunnel near Ulmen is well worth it. In addition to several castles (e.g., Reichsburg Cochem, Arras Castle near Bad Bertrich, Eltz Castle near Moselkern, and the Metternich Castle Ruins near Beilstein) in the area, you shouldn’t miss the maars (the “blue eyes of the Eifel”) with their rich biodiversity along the shores (near Daun: the Schalkenmehrer, Gemündener, and Weinfelder maars). In addition to enchanting hiking trails, you’ll also find swimming pools here (the outdoor pool at Pulvermaar in Gillenfeld is especially recommended).
Brochures, all kinds of informational material, and maps with directions are available on-site.
