The Swirl Howe was extremely clean and the layout was great for our group of 6. The location was also ideal and very walkable. It was close enough to the town, yet far enough to be quiet and local feeling. The bathrooms were wonderful.
Overall, our stay had several disappointments, the biggest being the lack of communication from the owner/management.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable — very hard, short, and felt more like oversized toddler beds than standard adult beds. The comforters were also too small for the beds, so anytime someone rolled over, part of their body was exposed to the cold air. The pillows were the thickest pillows we have ever seen and were impossible to sleep on comfortably. We ended up using the decorative pillows instead because the bed pillows were so excessively thick. Unfortunately, there were no extra pillows or blankets available.
When booking, I also did not realize the property did not include a hair dryer or coffee maker. Those amenities are so common that I simply overlooked it in the listing, so that part is on me. However, the most frustrating issue was that I contacted the owner/management company four separate times asking where we might purchase a hair dryer and alternative pillows, since we were out hiking most days and stores were closed by the time we returned. We never received a single response.
Many of these issues could have been resolved, or at least improved, with basic communication and responsiveness from the owner or management company.

Great location, just a few minutes walk from Keswick centre, ideal for us to walk out from and into the hills and lake. The accommodation is a high standard with everything we needed.
We have two small spaniels that were crated on a night, loads of room for them and their beds.
Parking is very easy with the allocated spot just a few yards from the front door so loading and unloading is very easy for your stay.
Nothing to dislike, the place was spotless and all furnishings to a good standard.
